The Gød: Maximum Overkill from The Devil's Kaiju Drops July 11/2020

The Gød: Maximum Overkill version by The Devil's Kaiju explores the possible implications of technological creations on our future. Maximum Overkill gives a nod to the notions of technology turning on humanity which was explored in 80's cinematic cult classics like "the Terminator" series & specifically inspiring this colorway, Stephen King's "Maximum Overdrive"!"

如果你沒聽過Fightstar但你大概也聽過少男團體Busted，經典曲"What I Go To School For"紅遍街頭巷尾，當紅程度大概是十年前的One Direction，主唱Charlie Simpson在Busted後期組了鬥星，離團後便全心投入，近年McFly和Busted合體復出變成McBusted獨缺他一人，大概還是不太想回去當偶像耍白癡，去年發行個人民謠專輯剛滿三十歲的他各種音樂角色都擔任過了實在不簡單，鬥星沈寂五年後本月再度回歸出輯，整張專輯融合各種元素，開場曲"Sharp Tongue"和首波MV單曲"Sink with the Snakes"同樣以兇悍吉他riff展開但中間轉一個Funeral For A Friend風格的旋律，同名曲"Behind the Devil's Back"和"Titan"更有濃厚的Deftones風味，另外Bass手Dan Haigh在鬥星休團期間組了80's Retro Synthwave團GUNSHIP我個人非常喜歡而且While She Sleeps也滿喜歡，沒騙你照片貼下面自己看，雖兩團風格天差地遠但"Overdrive", "More Human Than Human"等曲目中鼓和合成器的音色選用仍可略聞一二，以電子音效蔓延的結尾曲慢歌"Dive"看似和平收場結果最後又噴出超兇riff，在你還沒回神前專輯已結束，不知道是否能用好聽來形容這張作品，但獲得多數搖滾雜誌媒體高度評價且在目前充斥著相似度過高的樂團界中鬥星確實獨樹一格充滿新意也相當值得一聽！
