It’s 4AM and before I start my weekend with another flurry of work and events, I wanted to post this up over my business page - the page that is open to friends , family as well as strangers alike - to read about not just my business or work related self … but snippets of my private life which I usually keep in a close journal as therapy for me when I need to pen down my musings.
This early morning post is about this decade old drum set.
This electronic drums was something I sought permission to buy from Azmi. I took drum lessons before marrying him, but never had the space to own a set.
But when we moved in together at our home we decided to buy 11 years ago, I coaxed him to agree to it and whilst he hesitated at first - he gave in and took charge looking for one that I could beat the sh*t out of, without causing lawsuits from neighbours (hence the decision to go electronic)
I could use it while I spun music from my DJ decks and it was snug enough to fit into the room which was meant for storage - not knowing God would bless us with more children and a pandemic that would lead us to pivot into creating a livestream studio to sustain our business.
He had told me to sell it off second hand - and I kept coming up with excuses that perhaps the boys would use it someday … or that it was too old and outdated “no one would buy it so best we just keep it”
Truth is?
Letting it go was like letting go of a dream in completing my music lessons which I had put a cork in the bottle upon finding out I was pregnant with Iman.
As time passed on, blessed with more children and different situations that made us have to change business strategies along the way, my music hobby was getting pushed lower down the priority list as more and more items on my “to do list” grew and climbed on top.
My children says I’m not fun anymore “you’re always working mama” and last night, as I went to put Ilon to sleep promising to sit with the older kids for our weekly Friday Family movie nights (a ritual we have started to keep the children’s sanity in check during this gloomy pandemic) , I am devastated as I ended up falling asleep halfway while working and breastfeeding Ilon.
They say you must find balance in life. Work, love and play.
I don’t know how to do that anymore.
How many of you feel that this pandemic has just made you become a work zombie?
Anyone up at this hour?
Shall take a cold shower now. I’ve got a show to run in 6 hours and I’ve not done a flow yet.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Reminding myself to enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can and love everything about it, which includes the increasing stretch marks, popping out belly button, double chin and how this baby boy keeps me up every night with his kicks and punches.
Last night, I was lying in bed with the 5yo at bedtime when the baby was feeling extremely lively and active. So I placed the boy's hand over my tummy so he could feel his little brother. He gave a super cute and surprised look with an open mouth and went on to say "That's his head, I know that's his head!", "Didi high-five me!", "He kick so hard!", "Didi, you are so strong!" and the sweetest being "I love you so much, Didi." ❤ Awwww.
Yup, this boy who himself is the Didi of two elder sisters is gonna become a Korkor soon and somehow, it warms my heart so much knowing that he is gonna have a little brother to play with him soon. Can't wait to find out what kind of adventures they are gonna go on in future.
In other pregnancy updates, the baby is doing well and weighs 1.3kg as of now and we are coming close to 29 weeks. The good news is my gynae says I did well in keeping my glucose levels in check for the past four weeks so I only need to do my blood tests every alternate day now. Woohoo! As for myself, I gained 9kg already despite staying away from overly sweet stuff but the main thing is to be happy now and worry about how to slim down next time when the baby is out safely, hee. 顺其自然,随遇而安.
Happy Friday, people! It's time to celebrate the end of the first week of school, I am gonna bring the kids out for dinner followed by a movie night today, yup, time to give myself a break and unwind! Enjoy the weekend too!

Allen Iverson had every reason to feel good after his performance kept Philadelphia close to the division lead.
Surely the mood changed when the Sixers All-Star found out he was injured.
Iverson outperformed Kobe Bryant, scoring 36 points and leading a decisive third-quarter run in the 76ers' 108-91 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Iverson helped pull the Sixers (31-33) to four games of Boston for first place in the Atlantic Division.
"It made me feel good," Iverson said. "Any win makes me feel good."
Iverson, though, chipped a bone in his left thumb sometime in the second half and will be fitted for a cast. He is day-to-day. The Sixers said Iverson will be re-evaluated Friday when they play again at Cleveland.
Iverson left the arena before the injury was announced.
The Sixers certainly need the league's leading scorer if they're going to make any kind of run at the Celtics.
"We would like to have that (winning) streak right now," said Iverson, before he knew the X-ray results.
Andre Iguodala scored 15 points for the Sixers, adding a few more spectacular dunks, including an alley-oop where he came crashing down on Jumaine Jones. Kyle Korver had 14.
Bryant -- who came in trailing Iverson by nearly two points in the league scoring race -- led the Lakers with 20 points, but had little help. The Lakers (32-31) fell out of the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference.
Bryant made five of nine shots in the first quarter, but went 1-for-6 the rest of the game.
"We've got to get more people involved," Bryant said. "They were doubling me and the shots weren't falling."
Iguodala had plenty to do with that. The Sixers rookie kept a hand in Bryant's face most of the game and aggressively contested his shots. Iguodala said he watched plenty of tape to prepare for one of his toughest assignments.
"I knew if I kept my hands up and kept nagging him a little bit that I could make him take a tougher shot," Iguodala said.
Bryant scored 16 points in the first quarter and Iverson had 14 as the two seemed poised for a one-on-one showdown between All-Stars. But Bryant slowed down, thanks largely to the sticky defense by Iguodala, while Iverson kept driving and crashing.
Iverson scored 14 points during a 26-9 run in the third quarter by doing what he does best -- drive the lane, look for the layup and get to the line. When he couldn't do that, Iverson would dribble around the perimeter until he found an open look.
He took six of Philadelphia's 16 shots in the third (making three) and went 7-for-7 from the line. Overall, Iverson went 14-for-15 from the line and 10-for-22 from the floor.
On one fallaway layup from the right side, Iverson was fouled by Chucky Atkins. Atkins bitterly complained and was hit with two quick technicals and ejected from the game.
Korver sank the two free throws for a 66-50 lead. Rodney Rogers hit a 3-pointer near the end of the third, giving Philadelphia a 28-point lead.
Chris Webber again was a non-factor for the Sixers. He scored Philly's first two baskets of the game, sat out 5 minutes of the second quarter and missed his last six shots for five points.
Webber remained baffled as to why he has looked little like the five-time All-Star he was in Sacramento. Of course, watching Iverson take a bulk of the shots and not having coach Jim O'Brien call plays for Webber might have something do with his struggles.
"I don't want to put my finger on it," Webber said. "It's not because it's late in the season. I didn't become this player in one day."
Game notes
Bryant, who went to nearby Lower Merion High School, needed about 30 tickets. Among those invited were players on this year's Merion team and his former coach, Gregg Downer. Lower Merion plays in the Class AAAA state semifinals Wednesday night. Bryant said he loved playing in Philadelphia, even though he's always booed. "If I played here, they'd love it with the Philly attitude I have," he said. "But I enjoy coming here because of that." ... The Sixers are 17-10 when Iverson scores 30 or more points

Allen Iverson helped give Denver coach George Karl his 800th win, finishing with 44 points and 10 assists in the Nuggets' 112-98 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics on Thursday night.
Karl was handed a Denver jersey with No. 800 on it along with the game ball after beating his former team to become only the 12th coach in NBA history to reach the milestone. He's 800-555 in 19 seasons.
Iverson had his highest-scoring game since being acquired by Denver in a trade with Philadelphia on Dec. 19. His season high is 46 against Chicago on Nov. 24.
Earl Boykins added 24 points, and Reggie Evans had a season-high 18 rebounds.

Seattle's Damien Wilkins matched his career high with 26 points, and Luke Ridnour finished with 16 points for the Sonics.
Seattle cut a 13-point third quarter deficit to three, 79-76, but Denver closed out the quarter on a 6-0 run _ all by Boykins _ to take a 85-76 lead. Denver opened a 16-point lead midway through the fourth and coasted to its fourth win in five games.
Another major snowstorm blanketed Denver on Thursday afternoon, but there was no postponement this time. Denver's game against Phoenix on Dec. 20 had to be postponed due to blizzard conditions that shut down the airport and forced Gov. Bill Owens to declare a statewide disaster emergency.
Owens declared another disaster emergency Thursday _ the storm was expected to dump close to 18 inches of snow _ but the Nuggets and Sonics still played in front of a little more than half-filled arena.
The Nuggets and Sonics both planned to make dashes for the airport after the game to get out of town for their road games Friday night. The Nuggets will play in New Orleans, and Seattle will travel to Minnesota.
Seattle star Ray Allen didn't make the trip to Denver after his wife gave birth to a boy Wednesday, but may rejoin the team Friday night in Minnesota. Allen has been bothered by a right ankle injury that's kept him out of three of the last five games.
Denver's Marcus Camby missed his third straight game with a fractured right finger on his shooting hand. With Nene out as well with a right knee injury, the Nuggets gave Jamal Sampson his third career start. He finished with seven points and nine rebounds.
Denver used its fourth different lineup in four games since Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith were suspended for their roles in a brawl against the New York Knicks on Dec. 16. Denver is 3-1 without Anthony and Smith.
The fact Karl's milestone win came against a Seattle team that ran him off after the 1997-98 season didn't make it all the more sweet. Karl said he no longer has any resentment toward the franchise he helped lead to the NBA finals in 1996.
"I'm just kind of humbled by the opportunity to win 800 games," Karl said.
Karl's first win was Nov. 15, 1984, against Atlanta when he was coaching Cleveland. He'd started the season 0-9 and never thought he'd reach this type of accomplishment.
"When I first started, I thought 250 (games) would be great," he said. "I thought 250 and you'd retire into a college job and coach into the sunset."
Notes:@ Sonics F Rashard Lewis missed his third game since having surgery on his right hand. He injured a tendon against Dallas on Dec. 20. ... Karl was 384-150 in 6 1/2 seasons with the Sonics. ... Chris Wilcox received his second technical for arguing a call with 18.3 seconds left in the third quarter and was ejected. He finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

The Golden State Warriors never used to win the close games against top opponents, or even believe that they could.
Now they are confident they can beat anybody.
The Warriors overcame a late six-point deficit to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 104-98 on Monday night for their third straight victory.
"In the past this was one of the games we would find a way not to win,'' Antawn Jamison said.
Jason Richardson scored 26 points, including four free throws in the final minute, and Jamison had 22 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Jamison made a monstrous dunk off a pass from Earl Boykins with 24.6 seconds left after a miss by Allen Iverson. Boykins was again the sparkplug off the bench, scoring eight of his 10 points in the second half to go with six assists. He also combined with Gilbert Arenas to defend Iverson.
The Sixers lost their sixth straight on the road, and their second in as many games on a five-game West Coast trip.
Iverson missed four shots in the final 2:16 and had his second consecutive poor shooting game, finishing 8-for-23 for 23 points.
"Any loss is a tough one, regardless of how you got the loss,'' said Iverson, who was 4-of-12 from the floor for a season-low 13 points in a 98-69 defeat Saturday at Utah. "A loss is a loss. It's just a bad feeling.''
Philadelphia coach Larry Brown was ejected with 7.6 seconds left after arguing an offensive foul call against Aaron McKie 3 seconds earlier.
"We're going home to regroup. I don't want to get in trouble,'' Brown said, referring to the chance he would be fined.
The Sixers have not won a road game since beating the Washington Wizards on Nov. 30.
Keith Van Horn had 15 points before fouling out with 3:57 left. Boykins then converted two free throws to tie the game at 92.
Jamison hit a 3-pointer with 1:25 left for a 95-94 lead after he had turned the ball over on the previous possession.
"It gives you a lot of confidence knowing you can play with a playoff-caliber team like Philadelphia,'' Jamison said.
The Warriors trailed by six after a three-point play by Iverson with 5:24 remaining. Iverson stole the ball from Arenas, who fouled him and was called for goaltending.
In the second half, Golden State went away from what worked so well early in the game, but still was able to hold on thanks to six players in double figures. The Warriors made fewer passes and settled for long-range shots, many of those under pressure. They had 22 baskets in the first half and 16 assists.
Golden State had its full roster for the first time all season after Chris Mills returned from his three-game suspension for a Dec. 20 fight with the Portland Trail Blazers. Guard Bob Sura was activated from the injured list Friday after missing the first 27 games with a lower back injury.
The Warriors shot 51 percent in a fast-paced first half to take a 57-52 halftime lead.
Mike Dunleavy made all four of his field-goal attempts in the second quarter for all 11 of his points and Richardson was 3-for-3 from 3-point range on the way to 18 first-half points.
The Sixers missed six of their first seven shots and had six first-quarter turnovers to fall way behind. Golden State used a 14-0 run to build an 18-4 lead before the Sixers finally began to find their offensive touch. Iverson was 2-for-6 in the first quarter but finished the half with 13 points.
"We were playing uphill for the most part and when you do that, you get down to the end of the game, things don't go your way,'' Sixers' guard Eric Snow said.
Game notes
The crowd of 18,733 was the second largest of the season. ... Now that the Warriors' roster is back at full strength, first-year coach Eric Musselman has to decide who to play. "It's not going to be a smooth transition period over the next week,'' he said. "It's going to take some time.'' ... The Sixers' Brian Skinner played despite a sprained right foot. ... Adonal Foyle had 10 rebounds and three blocks for Golden State.
