Learn how to cook with a U.S. diplomat! AIT/K Deputy Principal Officer Jack Lambert and Community Liaison Officer Sunny Lambert were invited to National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism to demonstrate two famous dishes from America’s diverse cuisine: Shrimp Tacos with Pineapple Salsa and Lentil Soup. Jack and Sunny chatted with students and introduced some of the high points of American style cooking. This is the first event in our Experiencing American Cuisine series. Stay tuned for more delicious American food!

【《中聯辦十八區私竇大起底》記者會 —— 反擊中聯辦介入香港事務 國安滲透無處不在】

反送中運動以來，北京強化對港管治系統，包括改組港澳辦，首度將香港中聯辦主任及澳門中聯辦主任兼任港澳辦副主任，近日中聯辦及港府首度表示「兩辦」不是「中央人民政府所屬各部門」，而是中央授權專責處理香港事務的機構，故毋須遵守《基本法》二十二條「不得干預香港自行管理事務」。

香港眾志發表《中聯辦十八區私竇大起底》研究報告，透過地產交易平台、屋宇處百樓圖、土地註冊處及公司查冊，搜集中聯辦擁有物業單位的數目及分佈，評估作為中央駐港機構的中聯辦編制人數，並整理中聯辦在港至少757個物業的分布地圖。

羅冠聰、黃之鋒和立法會議員朱凱廸現於記者會盤點中聯辦擴張趨勢。

【Press Conference | Report on Liason Office’s Property Empire in HK】

To keep watch on Liaison Office’s control, Demosisto has examined Liaison Office’s property portfolio and estimated the size of Chinese officers stationed in Hong Kong. The study shows Liaison Office has purchased 756 property units by the end of February of 2019, including 722 residential units. Beijing has scaled up its property empire after the Umbrella Movement in 2014, by reaching out its tentacles from Hong Kong Island to other places of the city.

Based on the assumption that each flat merely accommodates one officer, it is estimated that liaison office can station at least 722 Community Party officials in the city. Some of the flats were rented to Beijing loyalists or pro-Beijing organizations. In the past, they were mobilized in elections, campaigns and pro-government rallies.

As Beijing is sinking its claws deeper in local matters, our autonomy and freedoms now face an unprecedented threat. China now bluntly breaches the One Country Two Systems promise. After the passing of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act last year, the US Department of State will deliver its first annual certification on Hong Kong’s autonomy as specified in the Act. Beijing’s move in the city will undermine our diminishing autonomy.

AIT seeks qualified candidates for an Administrative Assistant (社區聯絡辦公室行政助理) opening. This position provides administrative support to the Community Liaison Office (CLO). The incumbent assists the Community Liaison Officer in developing and maintaining key contacts and managing information that benefits the morale and welfare of the entire mission. Supports 9 areas of CLO responsibilities – Event Planning, Community Liaison, Welcome & Orientation, Guidance and Referral, Information & Resource Management, Education Liaison, Unaccompanied Tours Support.
