Women's voices and concerns continue to be shut down and dismissed every day. Instead of coming up with concrete solutions on how to curb catcalling and street harassment, the blame is shifted onto women and their clothing rather than the perpetrator of the public harassment.
Even more appalling was the fact that this statement was in made after a Puteri Umno member expressed hope that the government would improve public safety as she was concerned for the safety of her two daughters.
