Happy 7 months old, dear baby Ansel! ❤

Today, you turn seven months old and you flashed your wide, toothless grin at me, like how you do umpteen times every day, when I took a photo of you.

It's been a month of gastronomic adventure and discovery with you in the past month. Let's see, your favourite food for now includes avocado, banana, pear and pumpkin but you've also tried potato, carrot, blueberries, apple, fish, chicken, sweet potato, brown rice, cereal and more! That's not bad for your introductory month of having solids, right? Although it makes me more exhausted having to cook your meals separately from ours daily, that bright smile of yours makes it all worthwhile.

You are also getting good at sitting down on your own though you tend to lose balance and fall over after some time. Haha. Like the previous months, you have been drooling and munching on your fingers incessantly but you have yet to cut your first tooth, so let's just wait patiently for now yeah.

Your sisters say you are very chubby and I think so too, you might just be the chubbiest one of the lot. It is a heartening thing to know because, like me, you are a preemie but I am relieved to see that you are gaining weight steadily. We love seeing your baby rolls and oh, you are easily tickled and will laugh and laugh when it happens.

We went for your vaccinations earlier this month and you were totally a trooper - your cries lasted merely 1 or 2 seconds despite having a jab on each thigh. That said, I think it's because I was there to comfort you and for now, judging by how you reach out for me or whine whenever I walk away, there is no doubt that you love me deep deep.

But you know what? That is not even a fraction of how much I love you. I can't even describe it but you are my world, or rather, our world because your siblings love you to the moon and back too.

Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in our lives and cheering us up every single day - something which we truly need during these gloomy times. Looking forward to more happy days stuck with you 24/7, my darling boy! ❤

真係形容唔到我今日有幾開心!! 其實20年前(!!) 我喺溫哥華跳水係攞金牌㗎! 差唔多每日放學就會去學跳舞，跳水，體操! 真係好感恩同幸福! 其實我呢13年喺香港，都有不停去搵邊度可以學跳水，但係一直都搵唔到… 好彩前幾日 @saiming.ching 同我講佢搵到個地方, 我開心到痴咗線! 即刻入會，即刻book堂！今日上咗第一堂，20年之後第一次嘅跳水！！算係咁啦～雖然35歲嘅我冇15歲嘅我咁大膽咁energectic 🤪 但我會繼續努力，希望會快啲進步！好開心呀～！我真係好愛好愛好愛跳水！

I can’t describe how happy I am today. 20 years ago (!!), I was gold champion for 1m diving in Vancouver. I grew up diving almost everyday after school—it was dance, then diving, then gymnastics. I was a very, very lucky and active child (well, still am!). For almost 13 years here in Hong Kong, I’ve been trying to find a place to dive again, but couldn’t find it anywhere! And finally… few days ago, thanks to my friend Sai Ming, I found my diving community again. I immediately signed up for class, and here I am! First time diving in 20 years… not perfect, but it’s a start! My 35 year old stamina definitely feels different from when I was 15 and fearless!! 🤪 Can’t wait to improve and continue doing one of my favourite sports ever!!!

It's been almost a year since I've seen my mom in person. My whole life I've always considered myself as a mama's boy and somewhat of a rebel as well in some cases. I've always felt that my mom was trying her best all the time ever since I was born to be the best mom she could be for me and my brother. (deng writing till this point kinda makes me tear up a bit)

Even till now, I'm 23 this year and she's still finding her ways to get close to me, making sure that I'm doing great in all aspects of my life. I will definitely say, I thank God for giving me such an amazing mom. Someone who does it all, and would stop at nothing to make sure that I'm doing great in my life.

Words can't describe how much I appreciate the effort and love my mom has given me. And I do pray and hope that I can do the same for her, to the people around me and to the world.

Mom's are truly awesome. And my mom is the most awesome one in my heart. I love you so much mummy, really hope to see you soon.

P.S. I've actually teared up while writing this. I guess writing it down really made me realise how hard it must have been for my mom to raise me and my brother. And it made me realise how little i've done for my mom and I should definitely do more.
