【Startup Adventure】🎉AWE opens arms to all applicants admitted to the academy 🎉

#AWE The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs held an online welcome reception on June 30, to officially welcome its 11 female facilitators and 133 outstanding participants who stood out from the 400 applicants!

In their remarks, Director General Dr. Ching-Tsang Ho, and Deputy Director General Betty Hu of MOEA’s Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, as well as Diane Sovereign, the AIT Public Diplomacy Section Chief, stressed the importance of women’s economic empowerment. They hope to create a startup environment that is favorable to women developing their businesses through encouraging them to be entrepreneurs and participate in our economies.

Coming up next, AWE will hold a series of events! Participants will join an international women entrepreneurs community after finishing their training, and become part of a global network!

【感謝全歐洲1,084位國會議員力挺台灣】

「台灣參與世衛不是地緣政治的賽局，而是應該免於政治干擾的衛生議題。」

歐洲 #福爾摩沙俱樂部 (Formosa Club)各國共同主席串聯歐洲議會議員與近30國總計1,084位國會議員，聯名致函WHO幹事長譚德塞，同時副本給歐盟執委會主席馮德萊恩與歐洲外交暨安全政策高級代表薄睿和，力挺台灣出席5月份WHA與WHO會議、機制與活動。

聯名信指出台灣防疫表現亮眼，也提供防疫物資協助全球超過80個國家共同防疫；同時強調WHA排除台灣不僅損害全台灣人民權益，也讓國際社會無法讓台灣幫忙與獲得專業知識與寶貴經驗。因此呼籲WHO幹事長邀請台灣以觀察員身分出席今年WHA，並將台灣完全納入WHO會議、機制及活動。

The co-chairs of the European chapter of the Formosa Club were among 1084 European parliamentarians from 30 countries who signed a letter to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in support of Taiwan’s participation as an observer at the World Health Assembly, which is set to take place later this month, as well as in the meetings, mechanisms and activities of the #WHO. The letter was also forwarded to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

The letter pointed to #Taiwan’s efforts in combating the #COVID19 pandemic and the provision of 54 million surgical masks and other PPE to over 80 countries around the world, adding that the exclusion of Taiwan from the WHA not only violates the rights of the people of Taiwan, but also holds Taiwan back from sharing its experience and know-how with the international community.

Cross-party support for Taiwan in parliaments across Europe show the momentum behind this consensus and MOFA will continue to work with like-minded countries so that the WHO will #LetTaiwanHelp.

Moreover, we shall definitely thank China for sacrificing itself to give the world more preparation time, except for Taiwan, the largest island of China, in which the officials and media insist referring to Covid-19 as Wuhan virus, regardless of the WHO’s demand to avoid naming the disease with any discriminatory word.

With Inferiority and Arrogance, Taiwan is Made of “Glass”
自卑又自大 台灣的「玻璃心」

Catherine Chang(張雅琴), the Era News anchorwoman in Taiwan, said, “Taiwan is not made of plastic.”
However, I’m not sure whether she’s wrong or right.
The only thing I can assure you is Taiwan’s made of “glass.”
What I mean is that there’re so many snowflakes all over the island.

張雅琴說：「台灣不是塑膠做的。」
到底是不是？我不知道。
我只知道台灣是「玻璃」做的。
因為這座島上有太多「玻璃心」的人。

There is no need to say anymore about the fact that there’s been racist campaign against Dr. Tedros, the director-general of the World Health Organization.
Now let’s think further about the motive of these attacks.
Since Dr. Tedros had never blamed Taiwan before he accused Taiwan of racism, what kind of hatred triggered the attaks?
What really irritated Taiwan’s people was he praised mainland China’s accomplishment in combating the epidemic.
Yes. Only for that.

毋須多言，來自台灣對世貿總幹事譚德塞的種族歧視攻擊真實存在。
但到底這些攻擊的動機是什麼？
在譚德塞指控台灣對他霸凌之前，他從未責怪過台灣任何事。
真正惹怒台灣人的，其實無非是他讚美大陸的防疫成就。

That is why I claim that Taiwan is made of “glass.”
There’re so many snowflakes who hide their inferiority with great arrogance. Actually, their hearts are too fragile to face mainland China’s progress today.
They cannot accept any good about mainland China.
Understanding that, we can ignore their allegations against Dr. Tedros, such as neglecting the severity of the disease or preventing Taiwan’s participation in WHO, for they’re all excuses or even lies in fact.

因此，我說台灣是「玻璃」做的。
有太多「玻璃心」的人用自大掩飾自卑。
他們的心脆弱到無法面對今日大陸的成就。
他們幾乎不能接受任何大陸的好。
當你了解了他們這種自卑和自大的情結，
你便可以無視他們對譚德塞的指控，
諸如他疏於防疫、阻擋台灣參與WHO等......
其實就只是他們包裝「玻璃心」的藉口，
或甚至根本就是謊言。

Because of complex of inferiority and arrogance, Taiwan society legitimizes its racist campaign against Dr. Tedros.
As racial discrimination is considered anti-humanitarian universally, I feel quite ashamed of that.
Nevertheless, I believe I am not alone, for that which is morally wrong can never be politically right.

因為這種自卑與自大的糾結，
台灣社會竟可以合理化對譚德塞的種族霸凌。
當全世界早已認定種族霸凌違反人道，
我實在為此感到羞恥！
