God promising to “remember your sins no more” does not mean that He is blind to the sins you are committing now. He is omniscient and sees/knows everything.
Thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross, God has wiped out all your record of sins, so you will never be subjected to the judicial punishment of God.
However, when you sin, you are sowing seeds of death in your own life. When you keep allowing a sinful habit to grow, it matures into fruits of death. This means sickness, poverty, depression, strife, premature aging, and every kind of manifestation of death in this mortal lifetime.
God wants you to enjoy a good quality of life—one whereby you are far above the effects of death. He is not punishing you when you sin—He is the only way you can be permanently free from sinful addictions and habits!
When a little child plays with fire on the stove, he gets burnt, regardless of whether his daddy forgives him for the mischief or not. In our case, our Abba God has forgiven us of all our shortcomings.
Sin is destructive in and of itself. It brings death. Let’s be wise, following the Holy Spirit and the instructions of God’s word, and be willing to let go of every sinful addiction and bondage. God’s will is for you to enjoy true life and have it more abundantly!
