Isn’t this Daphne Doll so beautiful? On crappy days like today, at least I can take out my own doll and play with it.

This doll gift has many sentimental meaning to it. For starters, I never owned a doll. My parents were frugal and would choose books over toys. When I begged for a cabbage patch doll, my father made one for me using an old towel and some bitsandbobs around the house.

Clearly, as you can imagine , it was not the same.

Secondly, I joined the Unduk Ngadau years back because my sister (who was part of the Klang Valley committee) needed participants. I was the oldest there. Probably the oldest participant till today. LOL. So it’s nice to have a memory of that moment since I didn’t take any pictures.
Memang style cowboy when I joined the pagaent - no full costume , no makeup team. Just me and my bag.

Finally, it was a lovely gift from a friend who lives miles away. He’s just been so kind and charitable to the family and I and I him only happiness in his journey to rediscovering his authentic self.

Nurita's designs are as beautiful and as intricate as she is. Complicated yet so elegantly assembled. Graceful even with its sharp edges.

When she recommended this dress, I was a bit hesitant. For starters, it's so tight. I was not willing to go on diet just to squeeze into it and have no buncit.

Secondly, do you see the trail?

Everyone who knows me well, knows how clumsy I can be. I was so worried I'd trip on my face going up and down the stage.

And finally, can't I just wear black? Black hides my hunoks and is more slimming. This is grey. I've never worn grey gowns.

I've had some interesting conversations with her some weeks back and I have grown to love her even more. Hosting this screenings was a big deal and I wanted to wear something that was comforting and intimate but powerful and elegant.

So #nuritaharith was my pick for the Oscars this year. I'm so glad she wanted me too. 😊Thank you NH for making me feel red carpet ready. See you on the 8th if not sooner.

I have been reading some really unkind comments about my friend @yasminhani with regards to her views about caning.
For starters, she was misquoted and the editor has since, corrected the title of the article. She never said the usage of Rotan is no longer relevant.
Secondly, she never said she's never been caned . What she was trying to convey is the fact that Rotan or Caning, is not the answer to everything when it comes to disciplining a student/child.
I personally hate punishing my children by hitting them. No matter how "light" or "swift" or "softly" when they do wrong. I've done it once on Isobel and I felt terrible. So I vowed never to punish her that way. Ever.
I'd rather raise my voice firmly, (not shouting or screaming my head off), to show my displeasure. And because I barely get really cross, when I raise my voice, the kids get scared.
I prefer talking to my children and to explain why I'm hurt and upset with their (in)actions.
But this is my parenting style.
Back to Hani. You know what peeves me off the most? Yang dok condemn and commenting unkind replies are mostly TEACHERS! With ungraceful words!
I told her to ignore it as we, her family and friends, know her intentions and know the REAL YASMIN HANI, but when my sister and bestie feels down and sad, this bugs me big time. So please understand the story better now.
Stop the cyberbullying. She's not just an amazing mother to Noah, but to our children too.
