For more than three decades, the U.S.-Taiwan relationship has served as a cornerstone of peace and stability in Asia. There is no question that the United States will be Taiwan’s most important strategic partner. But Taiwan must also expand our contributions toward a more promising future for the region.

三十多年來，美台關係一直都扮演著亞太地區和平及穩定的基石。毋庸置疑的，美國是我們最重要的戰略夥伴；而台灣對於區域的未來，也必須做出進一步的貢獻。

As a vibrant democracy, Taiwan is situated within an exciting yet intricate and ever-evolving security and economic environment. To successfully navigate this arena, Taiwan will need to articulate an open and forward-looking strategy for the future. This agenda is fundamentally premised on robust economic, defense and people-to-people relationships with the U.S., in parallel with a comprehensive and principled engagement with China.

Along these lines, I am committed to enhancing cooperation on joint training, exercises and defense-industrial cooperation.

Beyond security cooperation, I believe that the diversification of our economic ties will prove equally critical in charting the course ahead for U.S.-Taiwan relations. Already, with more than $63 billion worth of goods in bilateral trade last year, Taiwan ranks as America’s 10th-largest trading partner today. As Taiwan seeks to diversify its drivers of growth in the next phase of our economic development, we must work to establish robust economic linkages throughout the world, attract long-term foreign investment and cultivate our human capital.

Adhering to international standards, reducing bureaucratic red-tape and streamlining our investment processes are all integral components of this policy fabric that will make Taiwan more nimble, globally competitive and attractive to investment.

As Taiwan seeks more meaningful participation in the international arena, it has developed a number of capabilities and skill-sets that it can contribute to the broader knowledge base of the international community. For example, as a leading hub for the high-tech industry, Taiwan is well-positioned to support the development of international trade standards and regulations on cutting-edge, 21st-century trade issues, such as data flows and intellectual-property standards.

Underpinning all of these aims, a more consistent and sustainable relationship with China will be a core goal of my administration. Last March’s Sunflower Movement—when activists took over the legislature to protest the lack of transparency in the review of a trade agreement with China—demonstrates what can result when the Taiwanese people feel they have been left out of the discussion.

Here are some tips to get the best results out of concealer:

Tip 1 - Put a small amount on your fourth fingertip. Dot it on and move from the outside corner of the eye inward, and back out again.

Tip 2 – Concealer can be used over or under foundation, whichever way you choose, be sure to blend, blend and blend. While you are blending, be gentle to your skin. A triangular makeup sponge can be used to blend in a gentle back-and-forth dotting motion.

Tip 3 - Always prep dry skin with moisturizer before applying.

Tip 4 - Don’t use concealer on freckles and pigmentations unless you really need to because they may require heavier layers which could make them look worse.

Tip 5 – When it comes to dark circles, use your fingertips for the under eye area. Use a shade lighter than your foundation if they are recessed. Use a bit darker if they are puffy.

Tip 6 – To hide spider veins, you will need a yellow-based concealer.

Tip 7 – Don’t forget the most susceptible areas like the nose bridge, corner of mouth and outer corner of eyes. These areas need special attention while applying concealer.

Tip 8 - Apply concealer sparingly. It shouldn’t be cakey or thick.

Tip 9- After applying, smile into the mirror and check that you applied the concealer evenly. Blot gently with a tissue over uneven spots.

Tip 10 – After you have finished, lightly brush with a sheer translucent powder. This will set your concealer.

Tip 11 - Always have two concealers. Have one for your tanned days whether from a tanning booth or from the sun, and one for your normal skin tone.

Tip 12 - Do not keep concealer or other cosmetics for more than a year. It could harbor bacteria which will cause your face to break out!

It seemed like a highly unlikely game for Allen Iverson to sink his first career game-winning buzzer-beater.

Iverson shook off an awful performance to make a 14-footer at the overtime horn and give the Philadelphia 76ers a thrilling 106-104 victory over the depleted Indiana Pacers.

"It's just a great feeling to hit a shot with no more time left on the clock and they can't do nothing about it," Iverson said. "It's something that never happened for me. I've had the winning free throws, but it's not the same thing as hitting the game-winning shot. I might have hit shots that put us ahead, but just that one right there is a feeling that I can't even express."

Second in the NBA in scoring at 28.2 points per game, Iverson had one of the worst outings of his career, making 5-of-23 shots and committing seven turnovers. Iverson could not find the range, was sloppy while running the offense and was on the bench when Philadelphia climbed back into the game in the second half.

But the Sixers forced overtime on the seventh 3-pointer by Kyle Korver, a 28-footer with 3.7 seconds in regulation. Korver scored a career-high 23 points.

"That wasn't the play we drew up in the huddle," Korver said. "Our initial play was to pass into Marc Jackson, run a couple of player screens. That obviously didn't happen, so we pitched it back and forth. I knew we needed a three so I went back as far as I needed to go to get it off. I shot it and it went in."

"That play was a mistake by our coaching staff," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "We gave our guys a coverage that wasn't the right coverage and it cost us. If we hadn't, Korver wouldn't have gotten that wide open look."

In the extra session, Iverson finally found a rhythm with a runner that tied it at 104-104 with 1:19 to play. On Philadelphia's next possession, Iverson missed a jumper to fall to 4-of-22. But Indiana's James Jones also missed a jumper, setting the stage for Iverson's heroics.

From right of the top of the circle, Iverson dribbled down Eddie Gill into the lane, stopped short and leaned into a jumper that rattled in as the buzzer sounded, giving the 76ers their second straight win in overtime.

"I didn't have any doubt that I was going to take the last shot if I was played man-to-man," Iverson said. "I honestly feel like my teammate expected me to, but they had their hands ready if guys came off of them."

Iverson entered the NBA in 1996 and has collected five All-Star berths, three scoring titles and an MVP award. But he had never made a pure game-winning shot, although he had one to beat Germany in an exhibition game last summer.

"Allen had a tough shooting night," Sixers coach Jim O'Brien said. "He had some good looks at the basket. His shots didn't fall until that last one, but who cares about the other 18."

"I've found out in my career that if I do keep playing regardless of struggling, something positive will happen," Iverson said.

Marc Jackson had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Sixers, who erased an eight-point deficit in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter. On Wednesday, they rallied from six points down with 70 seconds left to defeat New Jersey in overtime.

In this one, the Sixers outlasted the Pacers, who used their size advantage and 3-point shooting to build a 17-point lead in the third quarter but simply ran out of bodies. Dressing just eight players, Indiana lost Jermaine O'Neal (career-high 39 points), Jamaal Tinsley (10 assists) and reserve center David Harrison to fouls in overtime.

"The difference in the game was the ref calling a foul on me when I got elbowed in the face," O'Neal said. "Also the foul on Jamaal when Iverson jumps into him. It upsets me that the game can be taken away from us."

Ron Artest scored 29 points in his return from a two-game benching and Stephen Jackson added 17 points for the Pacers, who have lost two in a row after opening the season with four wins. Indiana made 11 3-pointers but none in the final 12 minutes.

The Sixers could not have won without the hot-shooting Korver, who scored 11 points in the fourth quarter. His jumper made it 98-92 with 1:49 left, and Iverson added two free throws with 58 seconds to go.

Josh Davis made a free throw and Marc Jackson sank two, making it 98-97 with 16 seconds to go. The Sixers fouled Austin Croshere, who made both foul shots, setting the stage for Korver.

For the sixth time in as many games, the Sixers fell behind by double digits. The deficit grew to 76-59 late in the third period when Iverson missed a shot, threw away a pass and committed an offensive foul on consecutive possessions before taking a seat.

"We're not playing every quarter. We could easily be 0-and-6," he said. "Hopefully the light switch turns on and we start to get it."

BEN Simmons vs Lonzo Ball was all that anybody wanted to talk about in the lead up to this contest but that quickly evaporated as the Lakers point guard struggled to get any part of his game going against the 76ers.
Not seeing the court at all in the fourth quarter was Ball as the 76ers ran away with the contest in the final term to claim the win, 115-109.
Simmons finished just one rebound shy of his third career triple-double as he compiled 18 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists but it was his teammate Joel Embiid that stole the limelight.
Embiid was unstoppable on both ends of the floor and finished with the incredible statline of 46 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks.
The win now puts the 76ers record at 8-6 on the season as they head home after completing a five-game Western Conference in which they won three games and lost two.
Simmons takes his season averages to 17.7 points per game, 9.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists and now ranks first amongst all rookies in total points, rebounds and assists.

Praise for the two giants has come in thick and fast this season but the showing put forth tonight blew away everyone’s expectations.
Embiid ended the encounter with a statline nobody in NBA history has ever compiled while Simmons became the first Philly player to compile his statline in four years.
