เวลาประมาณตีสี่ของเช้าวันที่ 19 กุมภาพันธ์ ตามเวลาประเทศไทย ยานสำรวจอวกาศ Perseverance ได้ลงจอดบนพื้นผิวดาวอังคารเป็นที่เรียบร้อย และได้ส่งภาพถ่ายภาพแรกจาก Jezero Crater มาให้ชม ในอีกไม่กี่วันถัดไปยานสำรวจนี้จะทำการทดสอบระบบ ก่อนที่จะเริ่มภารกิจในการสำรวจดาวอังคารต่อไป

การลงจอดครั้งนี้นับเป็นหน้าสำคัญอีกหน้าหนึ่งในประวัติศาสตร์ที่จะทำให้เราเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับดาวอังคารมากยิ่งขึ้น บริเวณ Jezero Crater นี้ครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นพื้นที่สามเหลี่ยมปากแม่น้ำเก่าแก่บนดาวอังคาร ที่ปัจจุบันได้เหือดแห้งลง ภารกิจอันสำคัญอย่างหนึ่งของ Perseverance คือการศึกษาชีวดาราศาสตร์บนดาวอังคาร เพื่อศึกษาว่าครั้งหนึ่งดาวอังคารอาจจะเคยมีสิ่งมีชีวิต หรือต้นกำเนิดของสิ่งมีชีวิตอยู่หรือไม่ โดยจะพยายามหาหลักฐานฟอสซิลที่อาจจะหลงเหลืออยู่ใน Jezero Crater

ยาน Perseverance นี้นับเป็นยานสำรวจขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดลำหนึ่ง และบรรทุกอุปกรณ์ทางธรณีวิทยาไปเป็นจำนวนมาก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นกล้องถ่ายภาพจำนวนมาก เครื่องวิเคราะห์ X-ray Planetary Instrument for X-ray Lithochemistry (PIXL) เครื่องมือวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบ Scanning Habitable Environments with Raman & Luminescence for Organics & Chemicals (SHERLOC) เรดาร์ที่จะสามารถศึกษาทะลุไปยังพื้นผิวเบื้องล่าง Radar Imager for Mars’ Subsurface Experiment (RIMFAX) เครื่องมือวิเคราะห์สภาพอากาศ ฝุ่น และสภาพแวดล้อมบนดาวอังคาร Mars Environmental Dynamics Analyzer (MEDA)

แต่แม้กระทั่งหุ่นยนต์ที่เครื่องมือครบครันที่สุด ก็ยังไม่สามารถเปรียบเทียบได้กับสิ่งที่นักธรณีวิทยาจะสามารถเรียนรู้ได้เพียงแค่เวลาไม่กี่นาทีที่สามารถสัมผัสหินก้อนนั้นได้ด้วยตนเอง ด้วยเหตุนี้ Perseverance จึงมีเครื่องมือเก็บตัวอย่างที่เป็นโครงการแรกที่จะนำร่องไปสู่การนำตัวอย่างหินบนดาวอังคารกลับมาศึกษายังห้องวิจัยบนโลกในภายหลัง โดยความร่วมมือระหว่าง NASA และ ESA [2]

ยาน Perseverance ยังเป็นก้าวสำคัญก้าวหนึ่งของแผนการที่จะนำมนุษย์ไปเหยีบบนดาวอังคาร สิ่งที่ยานสำรวจได้เรียนรู้จะเป็นส่วนสำคัญที่ทำให้โครงการสำรวจดาวอังคารโดยมนุษย์ในอนาคตสามารถสำเร็จลุล่วงไปได้ดี โดยเฉพาะ ในส่วนของอุปกรณ์ Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE) ภายในตัวถังของ Perseverance ที่จะทดลองการสังเคราะห์ออกซิเจนจากชั้นบรรยากาศของดาวอังคาร

นอกจากนี้ ภายใต้ยาน Perseverance ยังมี Ingenuity Mars Copter[3] ที่จะเป็นเฮลิคอปเตอร์ และ powered flight ครั้งแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ที่เคยโบนบินขึ้นจากพื้นผิวของวัตถุอื่น นอกเหนือไปจากบนพื้นผิวของโลกอีกด้วย ซึ่ง Ingenuity นั้นจะถูกปล่อยบินขึ้นสู่ชั้นบรรยากาศอันเบาบางของดาวอังคารในภายหลัง

และหากใครยังจำกันได้ บนยาน Perseverance ก็ยังมีรายชื่อคนกว่า 10.9 ล้านคน ที่ถูกจารึกเอาไว้บนแผ่นชิปซิลิกอน โดยลำแสงอิเล็กตรอน ที่จะอยู่บนพื้นผิวดาวอังคารตลอดไป (หรือจนกว่าจะมีใครไปเก็บมา) ซึ่งสำหรับคนไทยกว่า 56,127 คนที่ส่งรายชื่อไป สามารถตรวจสอบรายชื่อได้ที่ [5]

ซึ่งสำหรับโครงการสำรวจอวกาศแล้ว ขั้นตอนการลงจอดนับได้ว่าเป็นขั้นตอนที่มีความเสี่ยงที่สุด เมื่อยานอวกาศได้ลงจอดโดยปลอดภัยแล้ว ลำดับถัดไปก็จะเป็นการปฏิบัติภารกิจทางวิทยาศาสตร์ที่เป็นเป้าหมายของยาน ซึ่งเราคงจะต้องติดตามกันต่อไปว่ายาน Perseverance จะมีอะไรที่น่าสนใจเกี่ยวกับดาวอังคารมาให้ดูกันหรือไม่ และเราจะได้มีเฮลิคอปเตอร์บินบนดาวอังคารกันหรือยัง

大気は毒性で腐食しており、燃えるように熱い。こちらの熱い惑星に送られた宇宙ミッションでは、熱風をだす火山、巨大な山、数えきれないほどのクレーター、巨大な平野を発見しています。この惑星の気温は異常に高く、鉛ですら溶かします。さらに、気圧が高いため、足を踏み入れた怖いもの知らずの生き物は、即座に潰されてしまいます。

しかし、最近になって、何百年も昔、金星が今のような居住不可な環境とは程遠いものであったかもしれない、という発見がされました。最新の科学的仮説では、何かがおかしくなる前の数十億年間、金星が心地よい安定した大気を持っていたということを示しています。実際、初めのころは、地球に似ていたのです。

概要:

-天文学者たちは、研究を行い、過去の金星の視覚イメージを作成しました。

- 金星の歴史の大部分の間は、海、適正な気温、安定した構造プレートを持っていたとされています。

- この時代、惑星はおおむね海で覆われており、9～304メートルの深さだったとされています。

- 7億年前に取り返しのつかないことが起こる前の30億年の間、金星は生き物が過ごせる環境だったということです！

- 主な説は、惑星の表面の80％を変えてしまった巨大な地理的出来事による、金星上の急激な変化に関係しています。

-マグマが金星の表面で固まって、岩を厚い層で覆ってしまい、それによって岩が二酸化炭素を吸収できなくなりました。

-金星の大気は、すぐに地球の90倍の密度になり、大量の二酸化炭素と合わさり、温室効果を生み出しました。結果、金星の気温は驚きの462度まで上昇。

- 金星の気候が急激に変わってしまい、完全に居住は不可なように思えますが、いつかこの灼熱の惑星が大変身を遂げるような日が来るかもしれない事を、科学者たちは否定していません。

- 金星は、太陽系の中で最も丸い軌道を持っています。

- 太陽系の他のどの惑星と比べても、金星が最も多くの火山を持っています。天文学者たちは、すでに金星の表面に1,600個の火山を発見していますが、人の目では確認できないものが、もっと多く存在する可能性があります。

- 金星の風は、かなりのスピードに達することがあります。大気の雲の層の中では、毎時724キロにも！これは、地球上の最も素早い竜巻よりも早い速度です。

- 金星のゆっくりとした自転が原因で、地球に比べて磁場がかなり弱くなります。

- 金星は、太陽の前を横切っている時に、人間が見ることができる数少ない惑星です。残念ながら、あまり良く起こることではありません。

- 金星は空で最も明るい惑星です。天体では、月に続いて2番目の明るさです。
