Easter Sunday is a very significant day for me, but maybe not for the reasons you might think.

I was raised in “The Church”.

I attended Episcopal services at St. James in Kent, Washington regularly as a child AND served as an Altar Boy, and at an older age, was The Head Altar Boy in our parish. I used to carry the parish cross to lead the processions at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle during the annual gatherings of Cathedral Day.

I was very serious about my faith. I was dedicated. I was a believer.

My faith began to fracture in 1957 after my near fatal experience with bi-lateral pneumonia. I had been hospitalized for the whole month of April of that year at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital. At one point, the hospital summoned my parents, who had gone home for a much needed rest, and said they should return immediately because “I might not make it through the night”.

Shortly after that, when the annual “Parish Pledge season” came around, my folks explained to Rev. Warren P. Frank, that they were very sorry but that they could not afford to pledge that year, due to excessive medical bills. Father Frank, in addition to being our parish priest, was also our next door neighbor. We shared a common fence. We used to share hellos and conversations that normal neighbors did in those days.

For their sins, they were ostracized. The priest turned a cold shoulder. He became distant. He shunned my parents for not being able to pledge to the church. He was no longer a friendly neighbor. This action hurt me so much. That was my first wake up.

In later years, I happened to spend a lot of time around “Born-Again” “Holier than Thou” Fundamentalist Christians and was exposed to the hypocrisy of faith: Living one way, professing another…..all the while denying the hypocrisy. I was even gaslighted into believing I needed to become “Born Again’ if I was to have any real worth as a human being.

I continued in the church until I was 18, but I remember, as I sat in the sanctuary while assisting the priest in the service of Holy Communion, the thought kept recurring to me that there is “something more”. Something deeper. I had reached point where the belief system was just too unrealistic and implausible for me.

I quit going to church on a regular basis, but continued to attend on major religious holidays like Christmas and Easter more out of habit than faith.

My interest and faith in Christianity wained, and by the time I turned 20, I no longer considered myself a member of the church.

On Easter Sunday, April 14, 1968, at the age of 21, while serving with the US Army in Vietnam, possibly out of habit or in an attempt to try to make sense of my current situation, I attended Easter services at The Chapel of Peace in Qui Nhon, Vietnam.

As I left the Easter church service at The Chapel of Peace that sunny, warm Sunday morning in Vietnam, I was immediately thrust back onto the streets of a war torn, poor country and the reality of chaos, suffering, uncertainty and fear surrounded me. The tranquility and solitude of the church had vanished in a flash. The all embracing, loving, but very judgmental, God seemed to as well.

But from that chaos emerged another kind of peace. A sense of peace that accepted the reality of that chaos and a philosophy of how to live within it. There was a sense of acceptance, resilience, tenacity and hope I had not seen before. And from the middle of that chaos were so many warm, smiling and happy faces. There WAS something more. Those were Buddhist faces looking back at me.

That day would end up being the last day I attended a Christian church as a believer.

For a few months prior I had been frequenting many Buddhist temples in Qui Nhon with my Korean Army Tiger Division Taekwondo martial arts teachers. Being that they were all Buddhists, they liked to visit the temples on their days off and invited me to go along. One temple in particular, Long Khanh Pagoda, was one that was almost surreal. Something about being there made me feel very familiar and comfortable with it all. It was like I had been there before. I became very attached to Long Khanh Pagoda.

I started visiting Long Khanh pagoda on a regular basis. I also began to read Alan Watts and D.T Suzuki and shortly after, converted to a Zen Buddhist.

Thus began my journey back to Buddhism, returning to a place I had existed in a former life.

Through all the tough times my life, the teachings and philosophy of The Buddha have carried me on a path of enlightenment and clarity, that was lacking in my experience with Christianity.

I have never doubted or regretted it.

I had been back to Qui Nhon two times since 1968. I had spent days looking for Long Khanh pagoda but was unable to find it. The combination of time, change and memory had failed to help me.

In 2015, at the very end of my second visit to Qui Nhon, after having spent two days looking unsuccessfully and preceded by a very strange series of circumstances, I found myself instantly back at Long Khanh Temple. It was totally unplanned, but it was clearly no accident. It was predestined.

Long Khanh Pagoda had grown and was much more beautiful than before. I met with some of the monks and explained my past relationship with this temple. I was warmly embraced by the community.

For me, it was a very emotional and uplifting experience, as if I had been guided there purposely by an invisible force. I was welcomed home. I was shown that my journey was validated. I was bathed in the spirit. It was one of the most amazing feelings of fulfillment and enlightenment I have ever experienced.

God Always Makes it Worth Your While

“Now while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.” Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.” When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking. They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.” For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught; and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.” When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭5:1-11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When there’s a need, God leads His children by the Holy Spirit to be His hands on earth to fulfill that need.

God chooses who to use, and if He chooses you, you have the choice to accept or reject the offer.

Jesus was led by His Father to choose Simon Peter’s boat.

Sometimes we think that serving God means sacrificing, when actually it’s the best investment you can ever make.

By lending Jesus his boat, Peter was sacrificing some time and effort which he could have used on washing his fishing nets or going out for another fishing expedition.

Here he was, doing a voluntary service to Jesus, having to row the boat out without any promise of payment.
Most fishermen would have frowned on this and said that it’s a bad deal.

However every time you say yes to offering your resources to serve Jesus, He will surely restore you with more to make it worth your while.

Remember during His earthly ministry, Jesus did nothing without first being instructed by His Father in Heaven.

“Jesus therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise. For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭5:19-20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Through Jesus, our Abba Father revealed His heart as a generous Rewarder when He gave Peter a miraculous catch of fishes.

God can tell us the right time and right way to receive our restoration blessings. In this case, Jesus said it very specifically—He asked Peter to let down his “nets”.

However, Peter was skeptical about it because he had more faith in his experience as a fisherman than in Jesus’ words.
Peter only let down one net—to test the waters and see if there was any credibility in Jesus’ words.

When God says He’s blessing your fruit orchards, don’t just bring a basket—bring trucks to carry the huge harvest of fruits because you believe that He is a generous God that doesn’t hold back any goodness from you.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.” ‭‭(2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

You can see from this miracle that our Christian life is from faith to faith.
It takes faith to obey the Holy Spirit when He prompts us to serve, and it also takes faith to receive the resultant restoration blessings.

The catch of fishes was so great that it filled both boats—Peter’s and John’s. When we receive God’s blessings through faith, He empowers us to be a blessing to others as well.

If God had just meant to reward Peter, He could have just filled Peter’s boat. But the catch was enough to fill John’s boat as well.

When God’s blessings overflow in your life, remember to share your blessings with others and show them Christian love for Jesus’ sake.

【桃花開在周杰倫】The Peach Blossom named Jay Chou（English writing below)

上星期的Youtube影片中，我談到周杰倫前世如何修到大桃花，以及桃花和個人財富的關係。

2019年9月11日2300H，久未發新歌的周杰倫推出新歌單曲《說好不哭》，兩天內就破一千萬的流量，刷下華語樂壇的新紀錄，而且在超過十個國家，包括美國、澳洲、韓國、德國、新馬港台等，都衝上了Youtube發燒影片第一名。

相比之下，蔡依林去年年尾推出睽違四年的新專輯，打破了傳統歌手唱情歌的套路，其中七首歌都有概念新穎、議論性極高的MV，但影片流量卻不敵這次「周五」的合作。

我不是蔡依林的歌迷，但她這次為專輯的付出真的讓我刮目相看 - 回顧蔡依林出道至今的「黑歷史」MV《怪美》，邀請吳君如一起拍向80、90年代香港電影致敬的MV《腦公》，邀小S拍的MV《紅衣女孩》，以及今年榮獲台灣金曲獎年度歌曲獎的《玫瑰少年》等等。

我個人很喜歡這首《玫瑰少年》。此歌以轟動一時的「葉永鋕事件」為背後故事：葉永鋕，台灣人，國中生，因不同的性別氣質而遭到同學霸凌，不敢在下課時間去上廁所。十五歲那年，葉永鋕在上課時，提前離開教室去上廁所，後來被發現傷重倒臥血泊中，送醫後不治死亡。（取之：维基百科）

而在今年五月，台灣成為第一個將同性婚姻合法化的亞洲國家，讓《玫瑰少年》更具有代表性。

再看看周杰倫這次的新歌《說好不哭》，如果你也覺得「周杰倫是我的青春」，這MV用的許多「情懷梗」，作詞人方文山，神秘來賓五月天阿信，必會讓你驚喜連連。

對我而言，這首歌延續著周氏情歌的曲風，MV拍法沒有突破，並沒有像蔡依林的專輯有那麽強大的創意和正面能量。

可是蔡依林這次別出心裁，影片流量和賺到的錢也不少，卻依然亞於周杰倫。

這一切的現象隱藏著過去世的因果。

據我根本上師聖尊蓮生活佛開示，周杰倫前世修密教的敬愛法，想必他持了天文數字的敬愛咒。他八字寫著，這一世的寫歌本領就是他修來的眾桃花投影。

這桃花非同凡響，改變了華語樂壇對流行歌的審美觀。這次《說好不哭》的MV流量、新歌銷量等，都名列前茅，新歌上線的24小時內，總銷量548.5萬張，售額1645.6萬元人民幣（S$3.2m)。

蔡依林全身都是重桃花相，但就算如此，她和幾個星期前出新歌《對的時間點》的林俊傑，也完全被周杰倫比下去。

一些聰明的Youtuber在《說好不哭》上線24小時內火速推出了自己的翻唱影片，鋼琴彈奏版，歌詞版等。這是很明智的作法，因為不用花錢就能夠沾個邊，借一借周杰倫的桃花來旺自己。如果周杰倫的八字及歌曲旺他們的八字，就會更有效。

網路搜索，加上娛樂新聞頻道的新聞報導，他們的頻道便會迅速增加訂閱和流量。

寫了這麼多，有三點要提醒大家：

1）有幸得到師尊灌頂的敬愛尊咕嚕咕咧佛母和愛染明王法的同門，請勤修此法。

有眾桃花，貴人顯著，做什麼事情真的會比較容易，賺錢也可以比別人快。我個人的修法領悟，如果抱著利益眾生的菩提心來修，效果會更不可思議。

2） 要賺錢，你速度要快。

錢如流水走很快不等人，你要懂得觀察局勢，學學那些Youtubers的掙錢速度及魄力。如果還是不會， 批八字看風水時，可請教你的師父如何迅速為自己增強桃花。

3）往對的方向，用對的方法努力，能改自己和別人的命

無論你八字中有沒有眾生緣，你要有錢，有敬愛的魅力，你都得努力地去結眾生緣，持續地去佈施，慢慢地去積累。因為再多的眾生緣，也會有用完的一天。

以上的歌手都是努力的典範，包括那些Youtubers。因為努力而產生的影響力，能引導他人改自己的運勢，你的功德可加倍。

不要一日一日地這樣荒廢青春，別把時間都給了家人，而吝於給他人。佈施要用心思，要不然，有一天福報見底時，你和你的家人就會出現資糧荒的現況了。

In my Youtube video last week, I talked about how Jay Chou cultivated his great Peach Blossoms in his past life and the correlation between your personal wealth and your Peach Blossoms.

On 11 September 2019 2300H, Jay Chou released his much-awaited new song "Won't Cry". His MV crossed 10 millions views within 48 hours on Youtube, setting a new record for Chinese music entertainment scene, and was the #1 trending MV in over 10 countries, including USA, Australia, Korea, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. His latest single also crashed Chinese music streaming site QQ music in less than a hour after its release.

In comparison, Jolin Tsai launched her new concept album end of last year, after a hiatus of 4 years. The album broke out of the conventional love ballads typical of Mandopop. 7 songs in this album were launched on Youtube with very creative and artsy music videos, which attracted much online discussion.

Yet the views on her MV cannot be compared with Jay Chou's latest MV.

While I am not a fan of Jolin Tsai, I applaud her effort for this album. The Ugly Beauty MV talks about the criticisms that Jolin Tsai had received since her debut. The Hubby MV was a salute to Hong Kong movies in the 80s & 90s, with Sandra Wu guest starring. Xiao S was also invited for her Lady in Red MV. The song Womxnly won the Song of the Year in this year's Golden Melody Awards, while this album won Album of the Year.

My personal favourite is the song Womxnly, which was inspired by the sensational story of Yeh Yung-chih, a secondary school Taiwanese student who had been long bullied for his perceived effeminate behaviour and thus, never dared to go to the school toilet at break times. One day, just five minutes before school ended, he was found dead in the school’s restroom in a pool of blood at the age of 15.

In May this year, Taiwan became the first Asian country to legalise same-sex marriage and Womxnly became even more symbolic.

Let's now take a look at Jay Chou's new single Won't Cry. If you also think that "Jay Chou is my youth", the many punchlines in this MV, the lyricist Vincent Fang and the mystery guest Ashin of Mayday will have you grinning in surprise.

To me, while this song is not bad and a continuation of Jay Chou's love ballad style, it does not carry as much creativity and positive energy as Jolin Tsai's Ugly Beauty album. Jay Chou's MV was also pretty similar to many of his past MVs. There was no breakthrough.

Yet, beneath all that we have seen till now, is the karma from many past lives.

My Root Guru, His Holiness Living Buddha expounded that in Jay Chou's past life, he practiced the Magnetization Sadhana of Varjayana, and had recited an astronomical number of the mantra of Love and Respect. As stated in his Bazi, his songwriting talent this lifetime is a reflection of his cultivated Peach Blossoms of Mass Appeal.

This is an extraordinary Peach Blossom, as it rewrote the judgment standard of Mandopop. The viewership of Jay Chou's Won't Cry MV and sales volume of the single are just as astounding. Within 24 hours of release, his new song sold 5.485 million copies online and raked in S$3.2million.

The entire physical appearance of Jolin Tsai spells of heavy Peach Blossom of mass appeal. However, with Jay Chou in the picture, both she and JJ Lin Junjie who released a new single The Right Time 3 weeks ago paled in comparison.

Some clever Youtubers quickly uploaded their own covers, in less than 24 hours of Jay Chou's new song release. There were cover songs, piano versions, and lyric version. This is a very smart way of leveraging on Jay Chou's Peach Blossom luck for FREE. Works best if the song and Jay Chou’s Bazi are compatible with their Bazi.

Through online searches and online entertainment channels who report about the covers, the Youtubers get to boost their subscriber volumes and viewership at a much faster rate.

These are the 3 points I wish to highlight to everyone after writing so much:

1) To my fellow Dharma brothers and sisters who are fortunate enough to receive our Root Guru's Dharma empowerment of Kurukullā and Rāgarāja, please cultivate this Sadhana diligently.

When you have Peach Blossom of Mass Appeal, your benefactors are prominent and everything that you do in life gets easily done, even earning money is faster for you. My personal experience is that if you practice this Sadhana with the Bodhicitta heart to benefit sentient beings, the effects will be incredible.

2) If you make money, you must be speedy.

Money waits for no man. You have to know how to observe the situations and learn the money-making speed and drive of those Youtubers. If you do not know how, seek the advise of your Chinese Metaphysics practitioner, when getting your Bazi analysed or Feng Shui audit done.

3）Move in the right direction with the right method, and you can change your life and others' too.

Regardless your Bazi has mass appeal affinity or not, to have money, to have charisma of Love and Respect, you must be diligent in forming mass positive affinities. Learn to give and accumulate your way through. For no matter how many mass affinities you have, they get expedited over time.

The celebrities and Youtubers I mentioned above are examples of diligence.

When your hard work brings you the ability to influence, you will be able to guide others to improve their luck, be it you are conscious of it or not. And that doubles up your merits.

Don't squander your youth by living aimlessly. Don't blindly give all your time to your family and be miserly in giving your time to others.

Constant giving requires thought, otherwise when your good fortune hits rock bottom, you and your family will face a dire drought of life resources.

"The smart one spends his effort in prevention and accumulation, while the fool puts his hope in salvaging. "

Just as Kobe Bryant said they would, the Los Angeles Lakers have dealt the Philadelphia 76ers the injury they could not overcome. They cut their heart out.

The Lakers moved within one win of repeating as NBA champions with a convincing 100-86 victory over the 76ers, whose once-proud pulse can barely be heard.

Shaquille O'Neal mauled his way to 34 points and 14 rebounds and a suffocating defense -- often obscured by glamour and glitz -- made sure there was no comeback by the Sixers, who again went down early and played uphill virtually the entire game.

"I'm on a mission," O'Neal said. "I'm very focused."

"He makes the game very simple," Bryant said.

As Bryant left the First Union Center after Sunday's Game Three win, he told an onlooker, "We're going to cut their hearts out." The Philadelphia native did his share of slashing, mostly with drives through the defense, and finished with 19 points.

Bryant also added 10 rebounds and nine assists in an outstanding all-around game. He has been the key in this series as the Lakers have won whenever he has played well.

No one stuck in the dagger deeper than the reserves for the Lakers, who played perfectly off O'Neal with a flurry of 3-pointers in the second and fourth quarters. Robert Horry, Brian Shaw, Ron Harper and Tyronn Lue all struck at least once from the arc. Los Angeles was 10-of-19 from long range.

"The second unit that came in the form of Horry and Shaw and Tyronn really saw the game to the end," Jackson said.

"I think our bench gets motivated by people saying we don't have a bench," Bryant said. "They come in and do an excellent job for us."

O'Neal took his forceful game right to Defensive Player of the Year Dikembe Mutombo, who finally appeared to back down a bit. O'Neal made 13-of-25 shots and had five dunks, including one that stopped another inevitable fourth-quarter surge by the Sixers.

"Nobody ever said that Mutombo's gonna step on the floor and Shaq is not gonna get his dunk," Mutombo said. "The way he's playing, he's going to get his dunk."

After a pair of dunks in the first quarter, O'Neal shot a glance at his father in the stands.

"He taught me everything I know," O'Neal said. "He taught me my ferocity. He taught me how to play the game. He taught me what to do tonight. He's like my Sega joystick up there."

"He was very aggressive," Jackson said. "I thought that he played hard."

The 7-1, 330-pound O'Neal also played smart, collecting five assists and staying out of foul trouble.

"I think you've heard me for three games," Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "The guy's the best. He's playing against a hell of a player in Dikembe. But he's phenomenal."

"Whole lot of Shaquille O'Neal," Sixers superstar Allen Iverson said. "That's all it was, a whole lot of Shaquille O'Neal. ... You got somebody that big sitting in the middle of the lane, I mean, what can you do?" There has been plenty of talk about the heart of the Sixers but they would have served themselves better by playing with their heads. With poor shot selection and botched fast breaks, they made dozens of poor decisions, many by superstar Allen Iverson.

Iverson scored 35 points but made just 12-of-30 shots. For the first time in the playoffs, the NBA Most Valuable Player could not carry Philadelphia to victory in a must-win game.

"It's been a long, tough year," said Iverson, whose defiance wavered for the first time in this series.

After losing the opener at home, the Lakers have outclassed the Sixers three straight times and are one win from completing the best postseason run in NBA history. They can do it in Game Five on Friday.

"I know this is going to be an animated place on Friday night," Jackson said. "The game won't be anything like it was tonight. It will be a totally different ballgame."

"I'm not gonna give up and I don't expect my team will give up," Brown said.

That may not matter anymore. LA improved to 7-0 on the road in the playoffs, tying the single-season mark for consecutive road wins set by the 1995 Houston Rockets.

"It's remarkable that we've won as many games that we've won in the playoff situation on the road this year," Jackson said. "I think it says something about the character of this team."

Derek Fisher chipped in 10 points for the Lakers, who shot 50 percent (36-of-72), held a 43-37 edge on the glass and led by as many as 22 points.

Mutombo had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Sixers, who shot 43 percent (33-of-77), including 1-of-6 from the arc.

Bryant's three-point play and breakaway dunk gave the Lakers their largest lead at 70-48 with 3:34 left in the third period. The Sixers still trailed by 20 points until Tyrone Hill closed the quarter with a layup.

That triggered a 13-0 burst that had the First Union Center crowd rocking for the first time. Aaron McKie's free throw cut it to 77-70 with just under nine minutes to go as Jackson -- who already had called one timeout -- refused to call another.

"It gives them a sense of being able to survive tough situations," Jackson said. "I like my teams to have a head about themselves on the floor, a collective head. We can cover a lot of things. We can jerk things around. Ultimately, they have to make the decisions on the court."

"He's not gonna call a timeout," O'Neal said. "We're just gonna have to work through that. We've been working through that all year. Phil's a great coach in that sense."

The Lakers responded like champions. O'Neal's final dunk was followed by 3-pointers by Shaw, Lue and Horry, rebuilding the lead to 88-71 with 6:40 to play. The crowd was heading for the exits shortly thereafter.

"We dig such deep holes for ourselves and we always find ourselves in the situation where you've got to fight back so long and so hard that it takes so much out of you," said McKie, who scored just five points on 1-of-9 shooting.

It could have been a lot worse as the Lakers played the opening of the first two quarters in a fog. In both periods, it took them nearly four minutes to make a basket.

However, once they got going, there was little stopping them. O'Neal hammered consecutive dunks over Mutombo and Fisher went in alone for a steal, capping an 11-0 surge that made it 14-6 with 4:21 left in the first quarter.

Sixers forward George Lynch made his first appearance of the series less than 30 seconds later and was entirely ineffective on his broken left foot. When Bryant followed in a miss by O'Neal with 1:42 to go, the Sixers were down 10 -- 20-10 -- for the fourth straight game.

Philadelphia went to a trap at the outset of the second quarter and pulled within 26-22 before LA regrouped. Harper had five straight Lakers points before 3-pointers by Horry, Harper and Lue made it 46-29 with 3:31 remaining before halftime.

At the worst possible time, the Sixers played their worst half of the series. They trailed 51-37 after shooting 34 percent (12-of-35), missing six free throws and getting pounded on the boards, 26-15.

"I don't think the first half we played too intelligently," Brown said. "They had a lot to do with that."

The frustration continued in the third quarter. Philadelphia began with a turnover and could not score out of its set offense as Los Angeles cut off passing lanes and blocked shots. Iverson was hit with a technical foul with 8:23 to go.
