After watching the news and seeing the current situation COVID-19 affecting so many nations and communities and seeing the numbers rise exponentially.
I’ve had a lot of time to reflect and sometimes my reflections have led to a very sad place in my heart. We are dealing with a global crisis and during many of my visits to refugee camps around the world, I’ve experienced first hand those who have lost everything and are in an extremely vulnerable state but despite fighting for their lives daily.
They have shown resilience, unity and most importantly hope. They have taught me a lot about how humanity reacts in times of loss.
Life has been extremely cruel to many of them yet they had nothing but kindness to give me in return. Many disabled refugee children or vulnerable families are currently already struggling everyday and UNHCR ประเทศไทย are doing everything they can to keep those who are fleeing from conflict and persecution safe.
My concern is this current global pandemic will affect those who are vulnerable and will have a devastating effect. All I ask in this difficult time is to reflect that if you have shelter, food and safety please think of those who are in need and those who are exposed and are in fear.
Humanity can learn from changing the thought of “me” first to “we” now. What can “we” do as a race to save each other? Not just our family, not just our country but all of us because in the end.. their hearts beat me the same way that yours does their hopes,dreams, safety and health are as valuable as yours.
I hope we can all responsible and act in a way that when we look back as a generation we did the right thing. 😔💕
