Ansel is four months old!
Well, for a period of time, I found it tough and exhausting to stay up to make these videos. Yet every time I look at my baby, I'm reminded of how fleeting these months, and years, are. Thus, that motivates me to do it no matter how difficult it is. If I had the time, there are so many more precious moments of my kids that I hope to turn into everlasting memories. Still, no matter what, that shouldn't stop me from being truly present instead of living my life behind a lens when they are beside me, right?
One of the biggest highlights of Ansel turning four months old was his first food ceremony! It is a tradition that we've kept to since over a decade ago with our first baby girl and I'm glad we've kept it up over the years. The kids were looking forward and so enthusiastic about feeding their baby brother for the first time and I hope he knows how much he is loved by all of us.
Having four kids might mean a constantly messy, chaotic and rowdy home but whenever I look at such videos which showcase the sweet moments of having a baby and the bliss of having kids who love and care for each other, I know I made the right choice for myself. Love you so much, my darling Ansel!

2020 seemed to have come and gone in a flash. It's kind of unbelievable to realise how much of our lives have changed within a year because of a virus. While things like home-based learning, social distancing, mask wearing and limited gatherings are things very new to us, I think we are blessed in the sense that some things still remain the same - like making time for family on weekends, being able to have home cooked food, our love for outdoor and doing our best to cherish every day that comes.
As we welcome 2021, there is a renewed sense of hope and excitement, even if deep down in our hearts, we know that life will not go back back to how it used to be, at least not in the near future. Still, we were happy to count down on the last day of last year with smiles on our faces and joy in our hearts. A positive mindset has the power to make dreams come true, right?
In January's "Happiness is...", it's about ushering in the new year and looking forward to a brand new beginning filled with hope, bliss, happiness and good health for our loved ones. It was a month that flew past with everyone trying to settle down into the new routines and getting used to waking up early once more, a month that reminded us of the truly important things in life, a month that brought us closer to becoming a family of six.

Vegan Karaage (Soy Meat Fried Chicken) Recipe
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 40min (incl. marinating time)
Number of servings: 4
Ingredients:
100g (3.5oz.) dried soy meat blocks https://amzn.to/3zBFQ4m
* 2 tbsp. soy sauce
* 2 tbsp. sake
* 1 tbsp. grated ginger
* 1 clove grated garlic
* 1 tsp. sesame oil
2 tbsp. Katakuriko (potato starch)
deep frying oil
lemon wedges if preferred
Directions:
1. In a boiling water, cook dried soy meat blocks for 4 minutes. Or as directed on its package. Wash well (change water for a few times) to remove the bad smell, then drain well.
2. Mix the seasonings in a bowl and marinate the soy meat for about 30 minutes. Overnight is okay, longer makes them tasty.
3. Drain lightly (do not squeeze out the marinade liquid), coat with Katakuriko in a plastic bag.
4. Deep fry in oil at 180C (350F) until crisp golden brown.
5. Serve with lemon wedges if you like.

How to Make Giant Bubbles that won't Pop Easily (Homemade Bubble Solution Recipe)
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 3min
Number of servings: 550ml
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
400ml boiled tap water (high purity water is better)
100ml laundry starch PVA (you can get it at DAISO 100yen shop)
50ml dishwashing liquid (surfactant around 40% increases durability)
Directions:
1. In a bottle, put granulated sugar and water. Shake to mix well. Dissolve the sugar completely.
2. pour in laundry starch and dishwashing liquid, then shake gently to mix.
