"Who Are You?”
Three simple words. Difficult to answer.
This past weekend I had the fortune to work with 20 budding yoga teachers in Hong Kong at my annual #mentorshipworkshop. Apart from the adjustment skills and teaching feedback that you would expect in a #yogateachertraining, one thing the teachers didn't expect me to ask them, and keep asking them, is this simple question ""WHO ARE YOU."" Knowing the answer to this question will help you define your teaching and find your voice.
I have been asked so many times in the last few years, how to build a brand, how to stand out as a yoga teacher, how to promote myself as a yoga teacher, how to get more clients, how to work with other brands. Will being able to teach advanced asanas be enough to be a great teacher? Will having beautiful photos in my instagram be sufficient to attract other brands to want to work with me? How to build a name for myself? How to get more followers on Instagram?
All of those are valid questions. But without knowing who you are, without knowing why you teach yoga (or why you do whatever business you're doing), all those questions will mean nothing. It is easy to teach yoga classes, handstand, headstand. It is easy to fill your classes if you try hard enough. But without digging deep to find out why you do the things you do, you and your business will only go so far.
Knowing why you teach is like knowing your core values - so you and your business will have a personality. Knowing who you are gives you trememdous power to make the right decision and do the right thing - so you have courage and confidence. Knowing who you are will allow you to know your own worth - so you can charge accordingly.
So next time when you ask me, how to stand out in a saturated market full of yoga teachers. My questions back to you are: do you know who you are and why you teach?
Thank you so much @delia.indrayoga @reebiesw @jason.washbourne @charlztrevor @anthealook @vrikokwok for sharing your wisdom and insight.
Thank you @maryhoiwai @dennislu_stayfit @msaliceinyogaland @stellaaaron @janetpsl for without your help, this workshop wouldn’t have happened.

The doctor's teenage clinic is starting to have parents. I'm not worried that the child is messing with politics.
′′ Don't listen to this. I'm threatening to cut off the mother and cut the
′′ Paying for studying like this. Still stupid. Let him leash his nose ′′
′′ Doctor, talk to him not to mess with these things ′′ 😂😂
Doctor has recommendations for parents as follows.
1. Let's be glad that you think that ′′ politics is about everyone The country will not develop with teenagers who only look at their own problems.
2. Believe that teenagers who ′′ question ′′ always bring flourish.
3. Avoid using words, judges, insults, cripples, values of ′′ stupid Oops. High study Let him leash his nose ′′ because that doesn't cause peace communication.
4. ′′ listen ′′ open-minded, don't judge the child. Feel uncomfortable, what do you want, what do you value, why think or believe... with the need to understand, not listen to teach.
5. Respect ′′ value ′′ in different things. (When parents may value asking no questions about respectful or powerful people. Children nowadays value human rights, justice and equality)
6. Questioning what you value (we may find that it's not wrong because it's basic rights). Tell the child what we value and the source of faith.
Haha. Don't be quick to think that stupid kids. Kids nowadays grow up with huge knowledge. They always doubt their ignorance.
8. Teach kids to question what they believe or are told. Which one is true? Why why do they believe? Helping kids practice analysis. Digest.
9. The way teenagers act, calling for change to what they believe. That's the energy of young people we should keep.
10. Teach children about claiming rights. Should not act by violating the rights of others.
11. Teach your child (and yourself) that using hate speech creates hate or bad image for a person may not lead to understanding what they want.
12. Explaining the love, faith of many people may not have reason, but it's something that we should value. Don't destroy or insult other people's faith.
Doctors believe conflicts, questions always bring change.
Listening creates a safe space. Embracing different opinions with understanding. Avoiding violence should be the solution to conflicts.
Finally, if you understand and agree with what you believe in.
′′ Be their power
If the kid confirms that he will go to mob.
I'm preparing for alcohol masks, umbrella, rain protection and bail money. 😂
If you don't agree with what you believe in, you can't stop it.
Help prepare alcohol masks, rain protection 😂
But tell the child how much parents have to have a helping hand. The child must decide to learn and take responsibility for their own choices.
And whether or not I want to hug my baby and tell myself that
′′ The world ahead is the world that belongs to the child
Many sorry people who don't want to use this area to involve politics.
Personally, the doctor said politics should be said and politics is our business. We will be parents with money and time to raise kids. Will we have good education? We can grow old without asking for merit. Etc. These are politics related things. Really inevitable. 😂
P.S. L L L L You can write different opinions, but don't reach the level. You have to #save Doctor O 😂

【From Taiwan with Love: A Story of an Indonesian Student Who is Struggling in NTPU】
^_^
Hi there, my name is Muhammad Hafizhuddin Al Ghifary, and you can call me Muhammad I come from Indonesia and the eldest son from 5 siblings in my family. I graduated from the Al Azhar Indonesia University (UAI) in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations (IRs) and University’s Best Graduate. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in International Program on Urban Governance (IPUG) at the 國立臺北大學National Taipei University (NTPU), under the Ministry of Education Taiwan scholarship 2018. It is such an opportunity for me to get to know deeper about Formosa, Taiwan. It was a tough decision for me to go to Taiwan since I had no any intention to study abroad but an accident. Besides, as a Muslim, I came up with a critical question that haunted me, "can I practice my Muslim faith in a non-Muslim country? Will I be safe?” But I soon remembered a famous Dutch proverb that goes “Leiden is lijden,” Leading is Suffering, in other words, I must always be prepared no matter what happens.
It was such a memorable "welcoming" moment when I was touching down Taiwan for the very first time. I was waiting for my senior to fetch me at the airport while having lunch. There came a senior lady who was working for a food shop asking for permission to have lunch in front of me at the same table since many tables were occupied during that time. Then I encouraged myself to greet her by saying "ni hao," and soon she started talking to me a little bit longer in Chinese in which I didn't understand since I never learned it before. Luckily, there was a clerk who was able to speak English and helped me to interpret between the senior lady and me. We were having a very pleasant conversation until my senior came and we're about to leave. Suddenly, the senior lady told me to wait for a second, and she grabbed her Pearl Milk Tea which it was the first time I tasted the favorite drink in Taiwan. Seeing her friend did that, the clerk who helped me interpreting also rushed into her room to grab me a Taiwanese cookie. I was surprised and couldn't help but speechless receiving the heart-kindness of Taiwan from both ladies. Since then, I have already considered Taiwan as my second HOME!
Being a student in IPUG is such a grace for me. The campus location is really strategic, natural with a mini forest and artificial lake. It's open for public so that we can have sports and recreation with our family. The buildings are astonishing, especially when it comes to the library building that shaped an owl. The teachers are really nice and humble. Not to mention they are really friendly. I still remembered when one teacher treated my classmate and me a Taiwanese iced cream dessert after finishing our assignments in the middle our class running. And the list still goes on and on after one teacher treated us. Moreover, the teachers are really broad and open-minded. They graduated from many top universities in the world, such as University of Cambridge, University of Washington and the Maryland. So no wonder how they would teach and guide us in Urban Governance study.
After all, Taiwan has made speechless with the all beauties within it. And I would say that there is no better place for you to study Urban-related in a calm environment with outstanding teachers but in IPUG, NTPU. My dear beloved brothers and sisters out there, I dare you to come to Taiwan and join us in IPUG!

Hi, this is Daniel.
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who are now watching this video cause you are now increasing my views right now. (Haha! Thank you~~~~)
Second, I’m really thankful for those who have responded my last video right here. (Ding) This one. I really appreciate it so much because some of you guys’ comments were like “I really love your video”, “What a nice accent”, and last “Maybe you can consider being a Youtuber!!!!!!!”
The reason why I promoted this video is that I want to provide a channel where a lot of foreigners can learn more native Chinese speaking, and the results, to be honest, was better than I originally expected. And also, to be honest, those who have shared this video to your foreign friends, I am really really really thankful for you because you guys really helped me a lot!
Thank you guys again for what you guys have done for me. Sorry for blah blah blah, again, if you would like to see more video like this kind, or you can also give me a “like” so that I know and you guys can encourage me.
Ok! So in today’s video, I would like to teach you guys another five native common phrases of Chinese. Remember, this one is more native than the last one, which is the episode one. So if you want to keep learning, justh keep watching! Let’s go!
1. The first word that I’m going to teach you guys is the word “讚”. This word is usually used when you want to say something that is really good, usually, it goes with the gesture ‘thumbs-up’. So now you know, the action of “liking” my photos on Instagram or “liking” my videos on my YouTube Channel is called “按讚” . 按 actually means “push or press” in Chinese, so “按讚” means give me a like! Also, most of the cases we use this word “讚” is when we taste something that is really delicious or yummy.
Example:
(Eating… 讚)
So, please remember this word because it is quite useful. Let’s say it again.
Now, guys, pay more attention to this word “傻眼” because this is way too native for Taiwanese people! “傻眼” literally means “stupid eyes”, but in Chinese, we mean “something that is so good that it makes my eyes or your eyes feel stunned” or “Something is so bad that it makes you speechless”. So this word is really useful because you can use it to express something that is so good or something that is so bad. In both cases! Maybe you don’t understand what I’m talking about! So let’s take a look at our example and you’ll more understand.
For example, maybe your friends are now having a party in the classroom and the moment when you walk in the classroom and you found the classroom was in a mess. You will be like “傻眼”. So in this case, we use “傻眼” to mean something that is so bad or something that makes you speechless. Another very good example is that when you see your friend who is typing very fast on their laptops or computers, and you’ll be like “傻眼”, “傻眼”, “傻眼”. How can you type so fast? So in this situation, we mean something that is so good and the thing makes you stunned.
Example:
You know how to use this word, right? Let’s take a look at No.3.
This word is typically used when you want to say “Whatever!” This is quite typically used when your friends offer you something that has two choices, and you need to choose one of them or one among them, but you don’t have a preference. And if you wanna say “whatever” you can say “隨便”.
Example:
A: Hey, Daniel, what do you want to eat for dinner? You want a hamburger or French fries?
B: 隨便
But remember, this is not quite suitable for you to use when you want to say it to somebody else who is elder than you. For example, your boss! You cannot use it to reply your boss, or you’ll be sacked (fired). It’s actually like English. You won’t say “Whatever” to your boss, right? So in Chinese, it’s the same case. You won’t say “隨便” to reply your boss! But, here’s the question. What do you have to say when you want to answer that both are fine for you or either is fine for you to your boss or somebody whose level is higher than you? Let’s take a look at No.4.
This means “both are fine (for me)” or “Either is fine (for me)”. “都” actually means ”both, or all” in Chinese.
Example:
Boss: Daniel, what do you think we should eat for tonight’s meeting?
Daniel:
“你” is “you”, “說” is “say”, “甚麼” means “what”. So in Chinese order, we’re actually saying “你說什麼” “You say what?” So it means “what did you just say?”
Example:
A: (on the phone) Yeah, you know what $%$*$*%##^@^Y*U^(^ER#%$&$%&#
B: Huh? Huh?
Thank you all!!

To all of my beautiful friends on Youtube,
This video is made to encourage everybody out there that Happiness is closer than you think. Reading all your troubled emails and messages really inspired and moved me to make this video on being Truly Happy from the Inside out. Everybody IS on the hunt for happiness right? Everything we ever do is aimed towards being happy. Who doesn't want to be happy? It's proven that happy people live longer and healthier lives. So the question is, why are there so many miserable people on earth today? Our lifestyles are better than ever but we feel more miserable than ever.
This video took me almost 2 months to plan and in this time, I did a lot of soul searching, reading, research and writing. It's my happiest project yet and I've had the most incredible journey putting this video together. I would sleep late feeling inspired and I would be too excited to go to bed.
I really hope that this video will touch you in some way to ignite a spark within you to have hope in yourself in the World. I hope you will walk away with something from this video and keep it close to your heart forever.
The reason Youtube is so important to me is because it changed me to become a better person. I finally realize what it means when people say "The more you give, the more you receive".
It's an honour hearing you guys tell me that I've made a positive impact in your lives but you guys have no idea what you have also done for me. Thank you so much for allowing me to be in your lives. Thank you so much for inspiring me in so many ways. You teach me valuable lessons, you motivate me to go out there and persevere and you inspire me to live in the moment. Youtube has been such a wonderful journey and I wouldn't have gotten here without you all. I am forever grateful.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make this video. It's not edited in anyway that's impressive but I hope the words were powerful enough to move you. It's my most special video yet because it means the most to me. I believe that Happiness is so much more important than how we look. Most cases, we need to deal with what's inside rather than what's outside.
If this video ignited you to smile, please share this video and spread a little hope, happiness and love today. Happiness is viral right?
I also want to say that this video was hugely inspired by these wonderful authors. Here are some of the books that I read for reference. Just encase you want to check them out for yourself.
Living Beyond your Feelings by Joyce Meyer (I also gained inspiration from her Christian podcasts)
Happy for No Reason by Marci Shimoff (This book was amazing!!!)
More Beauty less Beast by Debora M Coty
Feel Happy Now by Michael Neill
8 Rules of Happiness by Karl Moore
Music: Instrumentals by Hillsong United. The songs were "You Hold Me Now" and "From The Inside Out".
Turning to Christ has made the biggest impact in my life. I wake up everyday smiling with the best reason to be Happy. I'm nothing without Him. In my happy moments, I praise Him. In my difficult moments, I seek Him. In my quiet moments, I worship Him. In my painful moments, I trust him. In every moment, I thank Him. Praise the Lord.
