Although having all power in His hands, God is humble. He isn’t boastful or selfish. He uses that power to raise you up, for your benefit, so that your joy can be made full. Not to crush or destroy you.
What can God get out of helping you? Nothing. He already has everything and is self-sufficient.
He just wants to see you happy, and enjoy your company.
God is quick to show mercy and is eager to forgiven whenever He righteously can.
Since God is kind and He is not self-seeking, that means He can’t fully express His own nature if He is alone.
Kindness has to be shown to another and you can seek the good of others if no one else exists.
This is why God made man in His own image with free will — someone like Him.
So that He has a way to fully be Himself — to have a outlet for His kindness and selflessness to be manifested.
God would never make man without free will because that would be a selfish act — it would be all about what God wants and not what man wants to choose.
He wants you to choose, and He hopes that you will choose Him after experiencing His goodness.
“Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4 WEB)
He sent Jesus to bear all your sins and endure all your punishment.
He hurt Himself in the process — suffering when He watched His beloved Son suffer.
God loves you at the expense of His own welfare because that’s just who He is.
Actually the whole passage is fulfilled and epitomized by Jesus’ finished work at the cross.
That is the ultimate demonstration of love. There is no love greater than that.
Dear brethren, God never fails. He hasn’t failed anyone and certainly won’t fail you. God’s word says that whoever trusts in Him will never be put to shame.
“Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children. Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.” (Ephesians 5:1-2 WEB)
When you are conscious of your Abba Father’s love for you, you’ll imitate His love because you look up to Him and want to be like Him.
Everywhere you go, you’ll diffuse the wonderful fragrance of Christ as you walk in love.
Will you meditate on God’s love today? When you see Him in His love, you’ll be empowered to love others, just as Jesus proved His love for you.
