The 2015 AIT Youth Camp started yesterday! 50 students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau embarked on a three-day learning journey in Tainan. The 2015 AIT Camp focuses on volunteerism, creativity & innovation, and social inclusion. All panels and activities are designed and led by U.S. government exchange program alumni.
In her opening remarks, American Center Director Alys Spensley indicated that an important topic facing the young generation today is how to build innovative solutions to social challenges. She encouraged participants to make the camp a starting point for future engagement.
On the first day, camp participants explored Tainan’s historical sites during a“treasure hunt” activity, visited the Ten-Drum Cultural Creative Park to learn its founding story from the Director, and discussed social innovation and social enterprise development with alumni experts.
