Some tricky selling tactic in Arabic and Europe. Plz pay attention.
Around the Pyramids, there were lots of vendors selling things like head scarf. They would start to chitchat with you, asking where do you come from or is this your first time traveling to Egypt. During the conversation, they would find the opportunity to give you their product as a gift. This happened to us. The vendor put the head scarf on Fabian's head very quickly and he even asked me to take a photo for them. What happened after we took a pic?
When we thought it's for free and left, he started to follow us and asked for money. He might say that we touched the head scarf and even took pic with him. We should pay for them. Some even followed you to your car and they wouldn't let you leave until you paid. This happened to the ppl in our group. Thx that our tour guide stood out and spoke to the vendor. He told him that once you said it's for free, you shouldn't lie to them and ask for money! Our tour guide gave the vendor a lesson he should learn!
Paris- Sacré-Cœur/ Milan-Cathedral:
My friends went to Milan to visit the Cathedral. There were some black guys selling bracelets symbolizing luck. They also said it's for free. And they put the bracelet on my friend's wrist real fast. Afterwards, my friend wanted to leave, but there're lots of guys blocking his way. If you wanna leave, you should pay 20 euros for them. The above two real experiences taught us that nothing is for free and you should just say no and walk away.
Hope you can share this post to more ppl so they can know how to prevent these kinds of vendors so it won't ruin your traveling mood.
