All of the different regions of Taiwan have their own different personality, color, and texture. One of the most unique is Yangmingshan because the soil and rocks are volcanic in origin. Only here can you find still living volcanoes in Taiwan. It has a profound effect on the landscape and ecology. In the past, volcanic minerals were also a big part of the economy as well.
When I was a kid I would spend hours on end rubbing rocks together so the minerals would create a paste for me to make a natural paint. I would paint my whole body with it and use it to paint on paper. Naturally I have taught my kids to do the same and my golly I could watch them paint each other for hours. It’s magical

Those stairs are just near by New Taipei Municipal LianDong Elementary School. You may feel jealous that the students can enjoy the wonderful sea view every day, especially in such sunny day. When you stand on the stairs and look down, Yin Yang Sea with 2 colors is clearly visible: golden & blue. Allow me introduce it again: the golden color is because of the rich minerals of mountain rocks. Such a beautiful village!🌈
