Describe a popular mode of public transportation in your country
You should say:
- What it is
- What types of people use it often
- How far it is convenient
- And explain why it is so popular
There are different means of public transportation in my country, but I have to say bus takes the lead.
People from all walks of life can take a bus to get around because it’s quite inexpensive, but it’s majorly used by those who are living below the poverty line like students or the elderly. Some people who wanna protect the environment also commute by bus instead of their private vehicles.
Buses are now much more convenient than they used to be. In the past, there were a few bus routes that passengers had to go walking several miles to reach the nearest bus station. Also, buses used to be so overcrowded that there was no space for people to stand. The bus system now has improved a lot, which explains why it becomes more popular.
Bus is the preferred choice of many people because of a number of reasons. One reason is that it is such a cost-effective means of transport since it can accommodate a huge number of passengers at once. And this also helps ease the intensity of traffic congestion during peak hours. Besides, bus is a much more affordable mode of transport as compared to other means like cars or motorbikes, so people from all backgrounds can travel by bus. Most importantly, bus is becoming increasingly popular because it causes less pollution. People are now aware of the detriments of the air being heavily polluted by exhaust fumes.

2020 got off to a pretty crazy start.
Firstly, the kids had to settle down into their new academic year, get to know their new teachers and classmates, readjust their sleeping times and once again, wake up before the sun rises. I had to set aside many alarms every day because the kids wake at different times, go to school at different times and dismiss from school at different times every day - if you are a SAHM, you will know what I mean. It makes me really miss the holidays because those are the days when we can sleep in, be spontaneous, feel free to do anything we want and take life at a leisurely pace. Still, we managed to get into the rhythm quite swiftly and it's a good thing that these kids love and enjoy going to school
Secondly, CNY fell in the first month which means we had lots to do - decorate the house, spring clean, invite friends over for gatherings, pack ang pows to distribute and more. I didn't want to wait until the last minute so I made sure I finished all I needed to do within the first few weeks of January. Woohoo. Doing so made me look forward to the celebrations very much because CNY is still my favourite festival after all these years.
After that, it was more madness when COVID-19 got everyone panicking and let's just say during every of our CNY gathering this year, you could hear friends and relatives talking about it, from the precautionary measures and government updates to conspiracy theories and wild speculation. Every day, we were wondering "How many new cases today?", "How many have been discharged?", "How many are in the ICU?" and hoping that everyone could stay safe from the crowns. But no matter what news we heard, we refused to get into panic mode, refused to go snatch for toilet paper and refused to let fear dictate our lives.
You might say we are just being foolish or negligent but we decided to let our lives carry on. We still went for movie after movie - we watched at least 3 this month, we went for a theatrical play, we took public transport, we went to public playgrounds, we ate in public places and we remained calm no matter how distressful the world might get. That's just it, right? The more you panick, the worse the situation gets; the more you keep cool, the better you can ride through the storm.
In January's "Happiness is...", it's about staying calm amidst the chaos and doing what we usually do.

The tram in Hong Kong is also known as Ding Ding. It is one of the oldest mode of transport on Hong Kong Island. In this short video - I'll show you a bit of its scenery as well as tell you some of its history:
1) Established in 1904 - so over a century old
2) It spans across the north of Hong Kong Island for 13 km
3) Consists of 120 station
4) Only 2.30 HKD flat rate for the hong kong tram fare!!!
It is a lot slower than buses or MTR, however, it's cheap and scenic.

Being one of the most creative spaces around the world, it's by far the only office I know that allows employees to bring their pets to work.
Here's some facts you should know:
1) Google’s headquarters are known as the Googleplex. Googleplex combines the words Google and complex. It's also a play on the world googolplex which is a huge number ( A googol is 10100 a googolplex is 10 to the power of googol!)
2) In the Google office, Googlers can skateboard their way to the cafeteria, (computer controlled) toilets or in fact anywhere they want to go. For Googlers, destination is more important than the mode of transport.
3) Google offices do not have a dress code. A Googler can wear anything they want to the office. I guess, birthday suit too? haha
