台灣出生的林少校被控出賣最高機密給中國，最重可處死刑

美國海軍少校林傑良（Lieutenant-Commander Edward Chieh-Liang Lin，音譯），目前遭到出售最高美國軍隊機密給中國與台灣的指控，面臨最重為臨死刑處份。

林少校出生於台灣，是一名訊號情報專家，先前服務的單位是最高機密的「特殊計畫巡邏中隊」（Special Project Patrol Squadron, VPU-II），該中隊又被暱稱為男巫魔法師（Wizards）。

該單位以夏威夷為基地，使用一般海軍監視機作為間諜機，攔截中國與北朝鮮軍機所發出的電子信號。目前三十九歲的林少校，可以操作的飛機等級最高，因為上面裝載著最尖端的情報收集設備，包括遠距離電光學攝像機（long range electro optical camera）。

北京話流利的林少校，八個月前被發現沒有向上級報告，逕自出國旅行，並且在事後對上級說謊，旋即遭到逮捕。上週舉行的陪審團聽證會上，他被指控的多項罪名因機密遭到塗黑，可以見到的部份指控他犯下間諜罪、意圖間諜罪、不合法流通國防資訊、捏造官方聲明等等。至於私生活方面，他也被指控召妓、通姦，後兩者都違反美國《統一軍事司法法典》（Uniform Code of Military Justice）。目前他被關在維琴尼亞州的乞沙比克海軍監獄（Chesapeake, Virginia）。

根據《紐約時報》，林少校可能把機密情報透露給他的中國籍女友。

林傑良先生十四歲時從台灣移民美國。1999 年加入美國海軍行伍，表現傑出，2002 年被選作軍官訓練的人選。他在 2008 年正式歸化成為美國籍，在檀香山的歸化儀式上，他表示他在台灣時一直想要前去「應許之地」：美國。他又表示：「我從小就相信，美國的每一條路都會通向迪士尼樂園。」當時，他的歸化受到美國海軍推崇，作為新移民在美國前途無量的典範。

上週五的陪審團聽證會後，軍事陪審團將在一週內決定是否將他的案子送到軍事法庭（court martial）。如果最後他的間諜罪指控遭到定讞，他最重有可能被處死刑。

美國海軍先前也曾發生過間諜醜聞。約十二名高級海軍將官，把機密的軍艦巡邏情報賣給一名馬來西亞船隻維修商人，人稱「肥雷納」的克蘭‧法蘭西斯（Glen Francis），以取得現金、妓女、海外渡假、高級餐點的回報。然而美國上一次處決間諜是冷戰年代：1953 年，朱里葉斯與艾瑟爾‧羅森堡（Julius and Ethel Rosenberg）夫婦因把原子彈機密賣給蘇聯而遭死刑處份。
