Celebration of the Father
“Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem. They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened. While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?” One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?” He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?” Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?” They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”” (Luke 24:13-18, 25-27, 32-34 WEB)
Did you ever wonder why out of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, only one of them was named while the other remained anonymous?
Therefore, I believe that the name “Cleopas” is crucial to understanding the significance of this passage.
Cleopas is an abbreviated form of the name Cleopatros, made of the two Greek words “kleos” (to celebrate) and pater (father). Cleopas means “celebration of the father”.
Let us see what Jesus did in the passage. He told the two discouraged disciples all about the things concerning Himself in the Old Testament Scriptures, and how He fulfilled them all at the cross.
It was a celebration of the Father, praising Him for His glorious plan of salvation that was once hidden and is now revealed through the prophets, apostles, and the other writers of the Scriptures.
When Jesus celebrated the Father with the two disciples, their hearts “burned”, likely with faith, hope, and love in response to the love and grace of God. They experienced an “Emmaus” (meaning: hot springs) in their hearts, washing away the unbelief and refreshing their spirits.
They were no longer depressed and despondent. Instead, they were filled with hope, and energized in their bodies and souls. Having just walked a long way from Jerusalem to Emmaus, they immediately set off on a journey back to announce the good news they had seen and heard.
This world needs “Cleopas”—a celebration of the Father. They need to hear about a Father God who is gracious and full of love, who freely offers salvation through Jesus Christ His Son. They need to hear that He wants to be a Father near to them and not a Judge far off; that He is reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus, welcoming them home.
“But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21 WEB)
Anytime you are feeling down, you can initiate a celebration of the Father. It will cleanse you from unbelief, refresh your spirit, fill your heart with hope, and energize your body and soul!

「取捨」is tough, but you have to do it!
"The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.‘’
Again …
哈佛大學教授 Michael Porter 亦講過: “Strategy is making trade-offs in competing. The essence of strategy is choosing what not to do."
Tests:
A distinctive value proposition
A tailored value chain
Trade-offs different from rivals
Fit across value chain
What are trade-offs?
"Trade-offs are the strategic equivalent of a fork in the road. If you take one path, you cannot simultaneously take the other." by Michael Porter
"Competition is not about being the BEST, not about MARKET SHARE. Competition is about being UNIQUE, about earning PROFITS" by Michael Porter
video …
10 minutes, just cut!
This is what I call "trade-offs", LESS IS MORE!
When you please everybody, you please nobody.
Your trade-offs have to be different from your rivals, then you have a strategy.
Just Color 染髮? Just Blow Dry 吹頭?
Just Blow Dry?
No Cuts No Color, Just Blowouts.
I was an IKEA Customer, but not anymore! It's OK, you cannot please everybody!
No first class, No meals, No assigned seats, No baggage transfer, No planes other than Boeing 737s, No International Flight … so on and so forth.
“Dear Mrs. Crabapple. We will miss you. Love, Herb."
"Strategy is making trade-offs in competing. The essence of strategy is choosing what not to do." by Michael Porter.
"When you try to offer something for everybody, you tend to relax the trade-offs that underpin your competitive advantage." by Michael Porter.
"Trade-offs are choices that make strategies sustainable because they are not easy to match or to neutralize." by Michael Porter.
I know it.
What are your trade-offs?
There is no problem with that!
李小龍嘅名言,亦都係掛喺我公司office嘅唯一名言: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."

An individual contributor is someone who does not have to be managed closely by a manager and performs tasks individually for a company. They do not work with management responsibilities. If the job is very team-oriented, employees would more likely be called “team members” instead of individual contributors.
Zach例句: The "XYZ developer company" only has individual contributors who do not have direct reports or managers.

I made a large fresh Daifuku filled with frozen "Petit Daifuku" (1kg!) from the Gyomu Supermarket.I used matcha green tea flavored fresh cream, so I never get tired of eating it. This is not a birthday cake, but a birthday Daifuku for someone who loves Japanese sweets! I want to give a big fortune ( Meaning of Daifuku ) and impact.
*Recipe* (for one 17cm diameter bowl)
1.Mix 6g of matcha, 40g of sugar and 40ml of fresh cream in a bowl over hot water.Matcha is less likely to get lumpy once it is sifted.
2.Pour 360ml of fresh cream into a bowl and add the cooled (1).
3.Cool the bottom of the bowl with ice water and whisk until stiff.
4.Spread out the plastic wrap in a 17cm diameter bowl.
5.Layer (3) with the petite daifuku. I used 25 pieces of petite daifuku.
6.Place in the freezer to cool and harden.
7.In a heatproof bowl, mix together 150g of joshinko (rice flour) and 60g of sugar.
8.While mixing, add 165g of lukewarm water, a little at a time, keeping an eye on it. I added a little less than 150g this time.
9.Wrap it softly and heat it in a 600w microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. If any whitish areas remain, mix them briefly and heat while watching the situation. This time, it was additionally heated twice for 30 seconds and 20 seconds.
10.Pound the mixture with a wet pestle until it becomes smooth.
11.When it is cool enough to touch, knead it with wet hands about 50 times.
12.Put the mochi between two sheets of plastic wrap and stretch it out. It was quite difficult.
13.Take (6) out of the bowl and wrap it with (12).
14.It's done. For a while, this Daifuku will be my daily snack.
You can freeze the whole thing, so if you can't eat it all, freeze it and enjoy it.
