Having worked for many years in the hospitality industry at Genting Highlands which operates 24 hours a day, Andrew had little time to spend with his family and loved ones.
When he got the news that his wife was pregnant with a baby girl on the way, Andrew knew he had to have a change of lifestyle so he could spend more time with his growing family.
He knew it was time to explore moving into a new field, and coming from a hospitality background, he felt that the best choice would be to try his hand in F&B.
He started @lean_n_rush in Nu Sentral mall, offering a range of salads catering to the rising demand for more health-conscious dining options.
However, when MCO was announced and he started facing reduced traffic, it was a matter of time before he was forced to close down.
Believing that ‘to survive is to grow,’ he immediately started seeking out other options to sustain his business.
Lean & Rush was one of the first brands to begin operating at @COOXasia and it has made his business easier to manage, with orders and customers steadily rising day by day.
Andrew is very grateful to have the opportunity to try something new, and he appreciates that not everyone is so lucky to have that opportunity.
When we started COOX, it was always our goal to help empower F&B entrepreneurs who were facing tough times, or even those who were interested to try their hand in an F&B business, but the conventional way was just too difficult and costly.
If you think this is something that will be beneficial for you or know someone who would be interested, we are always welcoming more startups and F&B entrepreneurs to join us.

Fight Only your Battles
“After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.” He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, even Isaac, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.” Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.” (Genesis 22:1-3 WEB)
God told Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son of promise.
There is a reason why God did not ask Sarah do it. He knew that she would not be able to.
After being ridiculed for decades for being barren, she finally had her only son after much patience, perseverance, and probably tears.
Asking Sarah to sacrifice her son as an offering is akin to driving her insane and probably suicide. There is no mention of Abraham telling Sarah about God’s instruction.
Abraham probably left home with a heavy heart, just kissing Sarah goodbye and telling her that he was going out with Isaac to spend some time together. We don’t know exactly what he told her, but it is probably not, “Dear, I am bringing our son now to be offered as a burnt offering because God said so.”
God saw Abraham’s heart and knew that he would be able to pass the test.
“No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
When God tests a person, it is not because He does not know the outcome. He wants to teach us something through the test, enabling us to grow closer to Him and know Him better.
In the case of Abraham’s test, we are taught that someone restrained Abraham from sacrificing his son, but at the cross, no one restrained God from sacrifice Jesus, His only begotten Son. There was no substitute. Jesus had to bleed and die so that we would be saved.
If you are married, your marriage is also a partnership. Your spouse has a unique set of gifts, anointings, and a calling that is different from yours. God will use you for what you are good at (what He designed you for), and He will use your spouse for what he/she is good at. This way, your family unit will benefit from both sets of graces.
As a married person, your role is not to do everything, as God will delegate tasks to you and your spouse. Trust that He knows what He is doing.
Abraham’s test was designed by God for Abraham, not Sarah. Fight only your battles.
If you have an urge to do everything yourself, it is time to release that control into God’s hands. He wants you to enjoy a level of restfulness that comes from each person doing what he/she has the grace and capacity to do. The Holy Spirit will lead you!
Learn how to flow with God’s appointed time and ways, to do the right thing at the right time. In “God’s Appointed Time”, you will discover how to experience restful increase and unceasing fruitfulness through tapping on the Grace that this available to you in every time and season of life: https://bit.ly/god-appointed-time

When I was in high school our coach had something called "Hell Week" this was a week that we didn't even touch the ball and we just ran sprints. At the end of it there was not a player left standing, and he thought that he was some kind of genius because everyone threw up. The TRUTH is that it is not hard to make someone want to pass out. We have to understand that there is NO correlation between fatigue and Effectiveness!!!
In my opinion running just to run is pointless. Fatigue needs to occur, but it is a byproduct of playing hard and intense basketball (This is largely where a good coach and demanding coach comes in)
Today I am going to be talking about 3 way to work on conditioning so that you don't waste time and are able maximize the little time that you have with your players!

Lewis Capaldi《Someone You Loved》小提琴版本
| Violin cover by Lin Tzu An of《Someone You Loved》by Lewis Capaldi

Smell something sad just from the prelude?
(or you guess from my face when playing the violin? 😆)
Yay, this song is about people's state of mind of people when someone important is not here!
It's so wonderful if you can let yourself guard down and just fall into the arms of the important one.
In the relationship like this, ya'll get strength and will grow from it, but it does not necessarily mean the eternity of the relationship.
Sad of course, but with the time goes by, I seem to think that not every loss is the "loss", and there may be some value behind all these things.
This is a story of your own life. You are able to choose who to stay in your story, and of course the mentality of seeing the "loss" as some sort of "gain".
If you understand, instead of going for the so-called eternity, simply cherish and enjoy the moment with the important one.
There are such important people in our journey for some years, and those times are not wasted.
No encounter is accidental, so we pass by each other's world, and we cannot skip chapters.
We have to read every line and meet every character and won't enjoy all of it and some will make you cry for weeks and you will have moments when you don't want the pages to end. But you have to keep going. Stories keep the world revolving. Live yours =]
Hope everyone can find the peace and being healed from my violin.

When Ben Simmons got the ball in his hands and started to drive, there was a palpable rise in excitement inside the Thomas & Mack Arena Tuesday night. Fans leaned forward in their seats. When he’d make a pass, there were “oohs” and “ahs” of anticipation.
Which were usually followed by a missed shot from a Sixers a teammate. Simmons had six assists Tuesday night in a Philadelphia loss to Golden State, but he could have easily had another half dozen.
What matters right now you can feel the excitement the No. 1 pick brings to the court. His passing skills and court vision are better than advertised — and that was seen as the strength that set him apart. Sixers fans are going to love watching him play.
But he’s also got a long way to go to fulfill that promise. He was called a bit of a project at the draft, and that assessment is correct, too.
Through five Summer League games in Utah and Las Vegas, he is shooting 37 percent from the floor. He doesn’t have counters to his go-to moves, ones better defenders will take away once real NBA defenders are on him. He hasn’t attempted a three. You can see the potential on defense with his length, but he has a lot of learning to do on that and as well.
Philly management — more than the fan base — may be tired of waiting around for wins, but patience is the order of the day with Simmons.
“There’s no immediate fix planned for anything with a player who is 19,” Sixers Summer League coach Lloyd Pierce said. “He’s still growing into his game and now he’s jumping into the NBA where he’s got to learn a whole new set of players and tendencies, how defenses are playing him. We’re just trying to get him out there, see what he can do. We want to see how the players play with him, we want to see how he plays with the other guys. And that’s not something that is going to happen right away.”
Simmons has the gift of vision that only a few players — LeBron James, Ricky Rubio, etc. — have with their passing. It led fellow draftee Denzel Valentine to compare him to a mini-LeBron. Which is unfair, but welcome to being a No. 1 pick.
“I play like Ben Simmons,” he said. “I try not to compare myself to other players. There are guys I look at and try to take parts of their games into mine.”
His strength right now is in the open court.
“Transition, I’m a point forward, so if someone can get me the ball I can set plays up,” Simmons said…
“Whatever they give me I take,” Simmons said. “Every time I’m out there I try to contribute, whether it’s passing, scoring.”
Simmons admitted hitting a bit of a wall, getting tired and losing a little offensive focus in the fifth game Tuesday night. It’s pretty common at this point in Summer League — and coaches across the board are quick to point out it’s not going to get easier. Players, including Simmons, have to push through it.
“He’s a special talent, a phenomenal player, he can pass the ball, he can attack in transition, so we want him to stay aggressive,” Pierce said. “We want him to continue to flourish with the things he already does. And he’s done that.
“Sustainability, to do that for 48 minutes, for 82 games, is going to be a challenge. We want to see him bring it every night because a lot of people will be expecting him to do so.”
