昨天回去看之前在背包論壇上發表的文章，有網友留言表示我提供的資訊很實用，但是為何所有景點都沒有標示位置呢？——看到這句話才意識到自己好像真的很久沒有好好畫張像樣的地圖了，於是今晚埋頭努力了兩個小時，挑戰用有限的資源和時間把這趟去高加索山的地圖初稿生出來。

Although academically trained as a geographer/cartographer, I haven't made a map for quite a while! Spent two hours tonight to make a draft of my Caucasian trip map. The goal is to let you get a sense of my overall itinerary within 30 seconds. How well does this draft work for you? Please comment and let me know what you think :)

Tremendous amount of work were done this week by the deck crew, FFE annual service, anchor teflon roller replaced (hanged off anchor with mooring ropes) as well as hydraulic pipes and multiple speed boat repairs

It is going to be two weeks out navigating and anchoring in uncharted river systems of the western province, we will be providing dental, eye surgery and general medical aid to those in need. This area is known to be the most remote areas we serve.

Interesting fact: Large Tidal bore occurs in the river system of Bamu. These rare tidal phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave (or waves) of water that travels up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the river or bay's current.

As 2nd mate, charts were updated but 90% of the river system are uncharted un-surveyed so not much use in that 😂😂 @ Port Moresby

With 84% of the PNG population living in remote islands, the field work and lab test that medical staff do here makes the difference of life and death for some of the patients. 🙏🙏🙏 Hats off to their hard work. @ Milne Bay Province

I’ve always strive to make good use of my spare time when working on a ship (ie. Shooting maritime videos) and so I was thrilled when I have had the opportunity to help with relief work/medical aid missions onboard the M.V. YWAM PNG
In this video, I vlog about my life at (uncharted) sea, what is it that we are doing and the special work done by all the volunteers onboard.

One of the most amazing moments I have had so far was witnessing a old man, blind for 15 years, having his eyesight restored onboard our ship. The man in tears, on his knees, repeated the sentence with joy and gratitude saying “Thank you! Thank you! Now I get to see my grandchildren”

As you know, we almost rarely cook on weekdays because of work. Usually we just dabao (get takeout) from the coffeeshops near our place and one of our favourite choices of dinner is economy rice or more fondly referred to as Cai Png in Hokkien. In case you didn't know what an Economy rice stall sells, think Panda Express-- the stall pre-cooked a good variety of dishes and customers can select any of these dishes to go with white rice. This sticky honey pork dish was inspired by one of the cai png stalls Roland usually patrons. They cooked this dish so well that I had to get Roland to cook it at home too.

Ingredients:
Serves 6

1st - marinate the pork for at least 2 hours
==========
600g of pork loin with bones
1.5 tablespoons of light soya sauce
1 tablespoon of Chinese white rice wine
1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
A generous dash of white pepper
3 tablespoons of cornflour

2nd: Deep fry pork twice (1st fry over medium heat & 2nd fry over high heat)

3rd: Putt the dish together

1/2 thumb size of ginger - julienne
4 cloves of garlic - chopped
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons of light soya sauce
2 tablespoons of honey
1 tablespoon of dark soya sauce
Add marinated pork
