The first chapter of journey has ended and the goal to qualify for the Winter Olympics achieved. A journey filled with ups and downs, many trials and tribulations, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. A journey where emotional and physical strengths were severely tested. A journey made possible by the beliefs of family, friends and well wishers, and of the Skating Family locally and world wide, whose financial contributions allowed for a longer training term in Canada. Heartfelt thanks to all .
Unfortunately due to the nature of the sport , financial aid from the Government was minimal and contributions from Corporate sponsors were none. It is hoped that this will change with the success of the SEA Games and the inclusion of Malaysia in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
A new chapter of the Road to Winter Olympics 2018 has begun. This will be even more gruelling than the first. Training have to start immediately as there are less than 5 months to the big event. The Games are very expensive and the cost of participation with a coach is sky high. Hence, a humble appeal for support from individuals and corporates. The burden on the family is overwhelming and hopefully this can be lightened somewhat.
