Describe a book that you have read recently
📕 BÀI MẪU:
So today I would like to tell about the book that I have read recently, whose name is “Take care of mom”, a mini-novel by a Korean writer. As an admirer of novel, I cherish the value that is brought by this book for several reasons.
“Take care of mom” is a worth-reading book for some reasons. It describes a series of touching stories between the writer and his mother. Throughout the book, the author tells about the trip of coming back to her hometown to visit mom. On the train home, the scenery of the Korean countryside is described like a picture with traditional houses of this country and the image of the author’s mom emerges. Many stories were told but the most evident thing is mom’s sacrifice to support the whole family and her wishes and expectations for her only daughter to become a teacher.
Besides, many childhood memories of the writer are also told in the book, which remind us of the good old days that we all experienced when we were young. The book is a peaceful picture and a combination of memories, journeys, and even regret and sorrow.
Thanks to this book, I have realized some important things about family, which are motherhood, family bonding and the affection that members give each other. The book cheers me up a lot whenever I read it, it gives me a lot of motivation to try my best so as to make my mom happy and proud of me.

【能成功的人,絕對不粗心】
You Don't Become Successful by Being Careless

For Bazi registrations sent in yesterday, I have already replied to all. If you have yet to receive my email, very likely these are the reasons:
1) No precise birth time
One registrant wrote "tba upon confirmation" in the birth time field. I guess he must have not seen my recent FB Live, and skimmed over the rules stated on my webpage.
Don't think little of the rules I list. When I do not have enough time slots to allocate, I would rather give it to someone who comes more prepared. Actually, even if I am free, I would still not take up this request, because the attitude is wrong right at the start.
2) Wrong birthday stated
A gentleman wrote his birthday as e.g 05/07/2021.
Please register again next season after he is born. It would be a more accurate reading, when the Bazi is affirmed upon his birth.
Another gentleman wrote 05/07/198.
Mister, it's a lot of work if I need to see the stars to do divination for your birth year...
The birthday field asks for birthdays in Gregorian calendar i.e. the usual Western calendar we are familiar with. Thus, forms with Lunar birthdays written will also not get a reply.
3) Wrong email given
And my mail got bounced back...
4) Contacted my Shifu previously
I know. You also know. So don't attempt to bluff this noble benefactor. Heaven is watching.
Excessive carelessness is the shadow of negative karma. To be negligent at important moments is literally having your eyes blindfolded by ghosts.
Countless of people have gotten their fortune told. They look for Masters, seek the help of friends, get the advice of Third Aunt and Eighth Uncle, and use the computer to read their Bazi, relishing in the delight of knowing what is ahead.
But..why is it so rare for people to tear down the confines of the four pillars in their Bazi?
To transform your destiny, you have to first learn to be stricter with yourself. When you see any traces of carelessness, you must have the determination to improve on that, to break out from the limits of your destiny.
A good Destiny is not something you should have just because you want it.
Thus on the cusp of changing your Destiny, there is bound to be tests and there definitely should be such obstacles.
To see whether you deserve the good fortunes.
If you don't wish to make the mark, then just let things be.

The M.E. Series (The Millennial Experience). Created all on Mobile with #iPhone12ProMax
Weekend. Raining. Work had been hectic. Needed to take some time off to recharge. Covid. WFH. Blurred lines between work and personal time. No time to shut off from work completely. Found myself working from screens to screen. Laptop to phone. Even leisure is watching videos online.
In need of time for a digital detox.
Found a bookstore that was opened in Feb this year, in the heart of Orchard Road, Wheelock Place. Where the Borders flagship used to be. If you know what I’m talking about, you’re from my time. I recall the times when I was still in secondary school, hanging at Borders with my friends who love reading, and I will be there checking out the CDs.
Heard that it has a 2 storey space with a cafe and gallery as well. Heard that the ones in China open 24hours, although it’s not happening in SG yet
——
Zall Bookstore, an outlet with more than 30,000 books mostly in Chinese, also has a cafe and art gallery
——
“Ms Laura Yan Ge, 24, who is general manager of the Singapore store, said at a media preview on Friday that while the company did not anticipate the coronavirus outbreak erupting amid its expansion, it believes bookstores are especially vital during a pandemic.
‘Because of Covid-19, there is a lot of distance between people nowadays," she said in Mandarin. "We believe books will help to close this gap. They provide food for thought and people can use them to widen their worlds.’”
—
As a creator myself, I need to constantly find inspiration.
While I can readily find all sorts of information online, sometimes I found my mind being constantly overloaded instead. We read. Socialise. We basically live most parts of our lives in the virtual world, and now we have lesser and lesser reasons to get out there anymore.
So, why a new book store? When was the last time you visited a book store?
Being here made me realised that it’s not about the books. It’s about the space. It’s about the experience. It’s about being here and being present. And what happens when you unplug from the internet and be present in the moment? You’ll get involuntarily intrigued by the surroundings, the people, the architecture, the noise, the beauty of it all. You’ll find headspace. You’ll find your inspiration. You’ll even find a new you.
When was the last time you stepped outside, set aside time just for yourself, and experience life beyond the screen?
