นับเป็นข่าวดีอย่างต่อเนื่องของวงการหนังไทย หลังจากที่ One for the Road สามารถคว้ารางวัลจากเทศกาลหนัง Sundance มาได้ ล่าสุดภาพยนตร์ไทยอินดี้ The Edge of Daybreak ผลงานการกำกับของเจ้าพ่อหนังสั้น ไทกิ ศักดิ์พิสิษฐ์ ก็ไปคว้ารางวัลใหญ่จาก Rotterdam Film Festival 2021 มาครองได้อีกหนึ่งรางวัล
Rotterdam Film Festival เคยมีหนังไทยคว้ารางวัลมาแล้วหลายเรื่องไม่ว่าจะเป็น Wonderful Town(เมืองเหงาซ่อนรัก) ของ อาทิตย์ อัสสรัตน์ ในปี 2008, Mundane History(เจ้านกกระจอก) ของ อโนชา สุวิชากรพงศ์ ในปี 2010, Eternity(ที่รัก) ของ ศิวโรจณ์ คงสกุล ในปี 2011 และ Vanishing Point หนังร่วมทุนสร้างไทย-เนเธอแลนด์ ของ จักรวาล นิลธำรงค์ ในปี 2015
