Why poetry 📜?
To me, poetry is the perfect art form to capture the human heart. You don't have to be Shakespeare to write poems. Most of the time, I just string words and sentences together.
Freedom is what I want to embody in life. Time freedom, location freedom, freedom of choices, financial freedom...
Making and performing poetry are ways for me to embody freedom of expression.
And perhaps also freedom of love. My poems are about healing, struggles, self-love. About standing up after falling down. About us being enough already.
When I perform poetry. I feel like that Marrianne Williamson quote: "As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
So if you want to dance or write or make poems or bake cakes. Do it. Don't believe in the voice in your head that says: "Who do you think you are? You're no artist! You'll make total fun of yourself." Freedom doesn't come from escape.
It comes from expression.
Right in this moment, there's something inside you yearning to be expressed.
