I finally get to try 太二酸菜鱼 today! They have more than 300 stores in China and have recently opened their first SG restaurant in Jewel Changi Airport. Their Suan Cai Yu comes in a huge plate with the tender fish slices swimming in a pool of soup, brimming with red chillis, Sichuan peppercorn and pickled cabbage. Very shiok!

Helmed by talented Executive Chef Dee Chan, this new Chinese restaurant in Lorong Chuan serves a good range of hearty modern Chinese dishes. Some of the dishes we tried include Sichuan-style Cooked Garoupa Fillet, Sichuan-style Fried Chicken, Bi Feng Tang Eggplant, and Seafood Multi Grain Fried Rice.

For this episode, we embarked on an EPIC CHEAT DAY where I LOST MY ABS IN 6 HOURS! Steven, a long-time friend and semiregular guest star, suggested that we should head over to the East side of Singapore for a cheat day as there are many malls in close proximity there. Beginning at Tampines 1 and ending at Waterway Point, I ate 12 dishes from 4 different malls, resulting in a massive 7-inch increase in waist circumference.

It was a hard push towards the end, evident from my extremely distended midsection. My normally visible abdominals gave way to a turgid and swollen belly. However, it allowed me to satisfy my cravings in between my usually strict dieting between shoots. I was pleased with Steven’s choice of malls as they had good selections of food and drinks while mostly being walking distance from one another.

Meet the spicy food in Yokohama, a fierce battlefield in China! We visited "Chinese Cuisine Bichin" in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a Chinese restaurant in Sichuan Town, about a minute or two on foot from "Hakuraku Station" on the Toyoko Line. I think that the small appearance and the inside of the restaurant are likely to be Chinese food in town ... but this spicy menu is dangerous! We have received a special spicy menu that uses two major chili peppers and Sichuan pepper, so please have a look!

For this video, we headed back to Little Sheep Hot Pot at Orchard Gateway to again DESTROY a premium Wagyu hotpot! Little Sheep is a hot pot-style restaurant chain that specialises in various prime cuts of meat, especially lamb. It does not offer a buffet option as many hotpot places do, but provides high-end ala carte choices for the hungry customer. We brought with us a special guest star, Yuqing (@b1gqing), a mega IG personality and budding Youtuber.
We ordered their main 2 broths: a traditional herbal broth, which comprised of over 20 spices and aromatics, with numerous whole cloves of garlic floating on top and designed to eliminate any “gamey” flavour and smell from lamb, and a spicy mala broth that was deep red due to a thick layer of chilli oil on top and with bits of dried chillies and Szechuan peppercorns with every ladleful.
I found that the meat went best with the traditional broth which was wonderfully flavourful, complementing the meat well and it was worth alternating with the mala broth which had a decent kick to it but was not overpoweringly spicy.
The star of the feast was of course, the choice cuts of meat given, including the supremely marbled wagyu beef and the invitingly aesthetic lamb. Every piece of meat was gorgeously presented and thinly shaven, so they cooked within seconds in the simmering cauldron of ambrosial broth with barely any chewing needed to swallow the cooked pieces. To round off the meal, we again washed down the meat with Draft Denmark, a beer which was mildly flavoured and easy on the palate.
As always, it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it to all whose wallet permits.
