脾胃有熱易生眼挑針
「生眼挑針？你一定係裝人沖涼！」這個民間傳聞從小就聽說過。眼挑針又稱為眼瘡，中醫稱之為針眼，是指在眼瞼邊緣生的小瘡，偷窺當然不是病因！從中醫角度來看，眼睛不同位置對應不同臟腑，眼皮對應脾胃，因此眼瘡患者多數為脾胃有熱，或外感風熱，伴隨症狀為身熱、大便秘結、暗瘡等，眼瘡出現初期會痕癢及紅腫，當紅腫擴大時更可能會化膿。
中醫治療針眼一般以清熱解毒為主，如果症狀輕微，可以飲用金銀花菊花茶作紓緩症狀之用，亦可以潔淨的熱毛巾敷眼；症狀嚴重至化膿的話，宜諮詢醫師對症下藥。平日宜保持正常作息時間，不宜熬夜；少吃煎炸熱氣食物；注意眼部清潔衛生，女士們尤其要注意每天徹底卸掉眼妝，以及避免用手捽眼，以免加重症狀。
金銀花菊花茶
功效：清熱解毒，消腫止痛。
材料：金銀花3克、杭菊花3克、無花果1枚
做法：金銀花及杭菊花洗淨放入保溫瓶，以熱水沖洗一遍，再注入熱水泡5分鐘即成，放涼一會後加入切碎的無花果乾。
注意：此茶屬性偏涼，容易腹瀉人士及孕婦不宜飲用。

“You have a stye? You must have peeped at someone in their shower!” This folk rumor has been heard since childhood. In Chinese medicine, it is known as needle-eye as it refers to small sores that are at the edge of the eyelids. Peeping is surely not the cause. From a Chinese medicine perspective, different positions of the eyes correspond to different organs, and the eyelids correspond to the spleen and stomach. Therefore, most patients have heat in the spleen and stomach or external wind and heat, accompanied by symptoms such as body heat, constipation, and acne. Eye sores cause itchiness and redness first. It may fester when redness is enlarged.
Chinese medicine treatment of needle-eye is generally based on clearing heat and detoxification. If the symptoms are mild, you can drink Chrysanthemum tea with honeysuckle for relief. You can also apply a clean and hot towel to the eye. If the eye sore festers, you should seek medical help. On a regular basis, you should have a healthy lifestyle, avoid late nights, eat less fried food, pay attention to eye hygiene. Ladies should thoroughly clean off eye makeup every day and do not rub your eyes to avoid aggravating symptoms.
Chrysanthemum tea with honeysuckle
Effects: clears heat and detoxifies
Ingredients: 3g honeysuckle, 3g Hang chrysanthemums, 1 fig
Preparation: Rinse honeysuckle and Hang chrysanthemums thoroughly and place into thermos, rinse with hot water once. Then add in hot water again and steep for 5 minutes. Add shredded fig pieces into thermos after the tea has cooled.
Note: this tea is cool in nature and is not suitable for those prone to diarrhea as well as pregnant women.
