Bought the hat in Hobart’s Salamanca Market from a guy who could speak some Mandarin, well, he thought we were Chinese. Haha. He learned his vocabulary from his wife, who studied in Guangzhou for a few years. Don’t be surprise when Aussie speaks to you in fluent Chinese language; one of my ex uni mates did the same almost twenty years ago after graduation, a farmer boy who went to Beijing to learn the language. 😛 Ps.
