This was you two christmases ago. Even though you tried your best to hide your brokenness, I can see the sadness in your face. I remember this moment clearly. Christmas is your favourite time of the year and you had everything ready for your family to have the best Christmas ever. Surrounded by trees, lights and by falling snow, it should’ve been a magical moment but it all felt like a mockery. You thought you were broken but you were just opening up. You didn’t think you will ever truly be happy again but today; your heart is filled with joy and gratitude. At moments, you grieve the life you thought you and the kids would have but as time passed by, the more you’re realise you are just right where you are meant to be. The kids are thriving and most importantly, so are you. I am so thankful for you because I would not be who I am today without you. I love you so much. You have been through one heck of a journey and I am so proud of you for not giving up. You returned to the very place of the saddest day of your life and changed the narrative. You had the best time ever laughing at the very place you cried the most. Wherever you are in your journey, know it will pass. We all go through certain seasons but know in time we will always bloom. We are always ever changing, growing, adapting and learning 🌸. You have also managed to meet one heck of a lumberhunk who is terrified of your craziness but thankfully adores you too. Nice one! You now realise you can be happy, healing and still hurt at the same time and that is completely fine. That’s growth.
