สมัยก่อนนั้น เหมืองแร่ดีบุกนับเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมทางเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญของภูเก็ต
โดยกว่าครึ่งของพื้นที่ทั้งหมดนั้นเป็นการทำเหมืองแร่ดีบุก
และการที่อุตสาหกรรมนี้ต้องการแรงงานอย่างมาก จึงมีชาวจีนจำนวนมากเดินทางเข้ามาทำงานที่ภูเก็ต
ต่อมาจักรวรรดิโปรตุเกสได้เดินทางมาทำการค้ากับประเทศในแถบเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ พร้อมทั้งเอาศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม และสถาปัตยกรรมเข้ามาด้วย เมื่อมาผสมผสานกับศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม และสถาปัตยกรรมของชาวจีนที่อาศัยอยู่ ทำให้เกิดสถาปัตยกรรมชิโน-โปรตุกีส ที่ภูเก็ตขึ้น
อุตสาหกรรมเหมืองแร่ดีบุกนั้นมีความสำคัญต่อภูเก็ตมาจนถึงปี 1980 ก่อนที่จะเริ่มเสื่อมคลายลงเนื่องจากกฏระเบียบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม
แต่หลังจากนั้น อุตสาหกรรมใหม่ก็ได้เติบโตขึ้นในจังหวัดภูเก็ต นั่นก็คือ อุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว..
รู้ไหมว่า ในปัจจุบันภูเก็ตเป็นจังหวัดที่มีจำนวนชาวต่างชาติเข้ามาอาศัยเพิ่มขึ้นกว่าเท่าตัว ในรอบ 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา
ปี 2009 จำนวนชาวต่างชาติ 37,338 คน
ปี 2019 จำนวนชาวต่างชาติ 77,793 คน
ขณะที่เศรษฐกิจและการท่องเที่ยวที่เติบโตของภูเก็ต จึงทำให้รายได้ต่อหัวของประชากรในภูเก็ตเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง
ปี 2010 รายได้ต่อหัวของประชาชนต่อปีเท่ากับ 186,737 บาท
ปี 2017 รายได้ต่อหัวของประชาชนต่อปีเท่ากับ 388,559 บาท
วันนี้ภาพของภูเก็ตคือ 1 ใน 22 เมืองหลักของประเทศและเป็นหนึ่งในจังหวัดที่สำคัญของการท่องเที่ยวของไทย
ปัจจุบัน ท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติภูเก็ต เป็นสนามบินที่มีผู้มาใช้บริการมากสุดเป็นอันดับที่ 3 ของประเทศ รองจากท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติสุวรรณภูมิ และดอนเมือง โดยในปี 2019 มีจำนวนผู้โดยสารมาใช้บริการจำนวน 17.8 ล้านคน
ในปี 2019 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติทั้งหมดที่มาเมืองไทยนั้น 27% จะเดินทางมาที่ภูเก็ต
ปี 2018 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ 10.3 ล้านคน มีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวจากนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ 397,000 ล้านบาท
ปี 2019 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ 10.6 ล้านคน มีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวจากนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติ 419,000 ล้านบาท
พอเรื่องเป็นแบบนี้
ทำให้ภูเก็ตนั้นมีรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวจากนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติถึง 22% ของรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวจากนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติของไทยทั้งหมด
พูดง่ายๆ ว่า ถ้าการท่องเที่ยวของภูเก็ตมีปัญหา จะสะเทือนถึงการท่องเที่ยวในภาพรวมของประเทศไทยอย่างแน่นอน
และตอนนี้การระบาดของ Covid-19 ตั้งแต่ปลายปี 2019 กำลังส่งผลกระทบอย่างหนักต่อจังหวัดภูเก็ต
เดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ปี 2019 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวมาภูเก็ตเฉลี่ยต่อวัน 19,085 คน
เดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ปี 2020 จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวมาภูเก็ตเฉลี่ยต่อวัน 11,850 คน
จำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวที่ลดลงไป 38% ในตอนนี้
ทำให้ธุรกิจโรงแรม ธุรกิจขนส่ง ธุรกิจร้านอาหาร ร้านค้าและสถานที่ท่องเที่ยว กำลังเดือดร้อนอย่างหนัก หลายธุรกิจกำลังขาดสภาพคล่อง และเกิดความเสียหายทางเศรษฐกิจต่อภูเก็ตอย่างมาก
ที่ผ่านมาภูเก็ตเจอกับหลายเหตุการณ์ร้ายแรงที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อการท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดอย่างมาก
ตั้งแต่โรคซาร์สในปี 2002 เหตุการณ์สึนามิในปี 2004
แต่ภูเก็ตก็สามารถฟื้นตัวจากวิกฤตได้และการท่องเที่ยวก็กลับมาฟื้นตัวได้เสมอ
เหตุการณ์โรคระบาดที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในครั้งนี้ก็เช่นกัน ที่ทำให้ภูเก็ตกำลังเจอความท้าทายอย่างหนัก
แต่ด้วยศักยภาพของภูเก็ตทั้งการมีชายหาดที่สวยงาม มีจำนวนโรงแรมที่มีศักยภาพในการรองรับนักท่องเที่ยว รวมทั้งมีแหล่งท่องเที่ยวและแหล่งชอปปิงที่มีชื่อเสียงหลายแห่ง
พวกเราคนไทยทุกคนเชื่อว่า
อีกไม่นานภูเก็ตจะกลับมาต้อนรับนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติจำนวนมาก เหมือนที่ผ่านมา..

In the past, tin mining was one of Phuket's important economic activity.
By over half of the whole area is tin mining
And the industry desperately needs labor, so a lot of chinese people come to work in Phuket.
The Portuguese Empire traveled to trade with Southeast Asia and mixed with art, culture and architecture in combination with the arts, culture and architecture of Chinese residents, making Chino-produces architecture in Phuket.
The tin mining industry was important to Phuket until 1980 before it started decreasing due to environmental regulations.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - After a magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit the east coast region of Hualien Thursday, Taipei City's entire Mass Rapid Transit system was closed down for inspections, which were completed to allow a resumption of services from 2:30 p.m.
The airport MRT also stopped services for about 20 minutes, reports said. Trains stuck between stations were moved to the closest station to let passengers disembark.
The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) was also suspending some services, mainly along the east coast, while other trains reduced speed. TRA called on passengers to check for the latest information. Water mains at Hualien City Railway Station broke and flooded the main passenger waiting hall.
The main road across mountainous Central Taiwan saw segments closed off due to the risk of landslides. High Speed Rail trains stopped temporarily, but soon resumed service.
There were also reports of widespread damage to buildings, with ceiling panels falling to the ground and products falling off shelves at supermarkets. On Taipei City's Changan East Road, an office building was listing while tiles had fallen off the outer walls, cable station TVBS reported, leading officials to close off the site.
A dormitory at National Taiwan Normal University reported damage to its sanitary system.
According to Taiwanese media reports, the Japanese island of Okinawa issued a tsunami alert, while residents of the Chinese coastal province of Fujian also felt the quake.
The main tremor at 1:01 p.m. was followed by at least two aftershocks within half an hour, the Central Weather Bureau said.
Visiting the emergency center, Premier Su Tseng-chang warned citizens that rain expected for Friday might increase the risk of landslides in mountainous areas.

10 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR DISASTER 福島第一原子力発電所事故
The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster was caused by the massive tsunami triggered by the Tohoku Earthquake on March 11th, 2011. This was a Level 7 nuclear event, comparable only to Chernobyl.
1. Unheeded Warning
Before the disaster even happened, there were industry experts who warned of mega tsunami-generating earthquakes hitting the area every 800 to 1100 years, with the next one being overdue. But those in charge dismissed such warnings.
2. No Good Robots
During the crisis at Fukushima, high radiation levels at the plant made it desperately hard for human workers to do what they needed to do.
Back in 2001, the Japanese had actually developed extremely capable robots that were deemed technical successes, but then a government task force concluded that a Chernobyl-scale disaster was never going to happen in Japan .
The program was shut down and the robots were dismantled or donated.
3. Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant
The Onagawa Nuclear Power Plant was the closest power plant to the earthquake epicentre, yet it successfully withstood the barrage.
While the Fukushima Plant had sea walls up to 5.7 meters, Onagawa had it up to 14 meters.
4. Wrongful Evacuation
Due to miscommunication between the evacuation authorities and the experts who were analysing the fallout, many residents were evacuated from pretty safe areas right INTO the radioactive plume.
5. Evacuation Deaths
More people were killed by the evacuation process in Fukushima
than by the actual earthquake and tsunami, the disaster itself.
People died of fatigue, exhaustion, illness, suicides - losing their homes, not knowing where they would end up, cramped evacuation centres; the whole ordeal was taxing.
6. Geiger-Counter Hobby
After the Fukushima disaster, random radiation hot spots were discovered in unexpected locations.
Radiation levels as high as those in the no-go zone were detected as far as some Tokyo suburbs. This prompted many Japanese residents to take up a new hobby - walking with Geiger-counters through their city or village in search for random radiation levels to report.
7. Animal Guardian
55 year old Naoto Matsumura is the only man brave enough to live in Fukushima’s no-go zone. After the initial evacuation, he returned back
to take care of the animals that were left behind. Not just his animals, but everyone’s.
8. Mutations
There were a few small scale Fukushima discoveries.
9. Human Radiation Effects
No one died from radiation exposure in Fukushima.
And contrary to a well-publicised, yet poorly-executed, study
that made the rounds in 2015, thyroid cancer rates in Fukushima children were actually lower than the national average.
10. Disobedient Hero
Masao Yoshida was the manager of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant and on March 15th 2011, he lead a brave group, now dubbed ‘The Fukushima 50’ into the radioactive trenches.
With cooling systems crippled and having run out of fresh water, Yoshida decided they would pump seawater straight from the ocean into the damaged reactors.
Then corporate headquarters (TEPCO) ordered him to stop the seawater injection. They didn’t want the corrosive seawater to permanently damage their reactors.
Feeling his superiors were inept for risking a colossal radioactive fallout, Yoshida disobeyed the direct order and continued with the seawater injection.
Many experts now agree that his actions on that day
arguably prevented a much greater catastrophe.

岩手県大槌町 津波から一年半後。
2012年9月22日、23日と大槌町のお祭りに行った時に撮影しました。
一年半後ですと、瓦礫は片付けられ、その跡には草が生えておりました。
津波前は、駅があり、普通に建物が立ち並ぶ商店街でした。

あれから一年、3.11東日本大震災から早いものでもう一年を迎えようとしてます。
今回は、被災地でご自身も被災者のsironekomilkさんと共同で震災からの一年を少し纏めて
みましたが、伝えたい事は沢山ありましたが、震災時は自身、家族、ペットの安全が第一でしたので
カメラ等の機材で撮影することは不可能でしたので、映像等はスマートホン等もありますので
見づらい箇所もありますが、ご容赦願います。
まだまだ、これからの東日本ですが、youtube NEXT UP 震災枠でノミネート及び入賞した
仲間として、お互いで協力して、復興の足音聞こえる東北、命を繋げる動物救済の方々の活動等を
皆様に出来るだけお伝えしたく思っております。

The animals which suffered a great deal of damage are deposited with foster parents.
Cookie went to meet two animals which are present in Ishikawa Prefecture.
They was barking in good health wholly.
The name of this dog is Taro.
He has taken refuge from Fukushima Minamisoma.
It was very thin when he was found.
he is very friendry dog.
The name of this dog is Yamato.
He has taken refuge from Fukushima Iidate.
his body's spot was origin.
He is fine until now from the time at which it was found.
With the owner, she is staying in touch frequently.
We went to Mrs. Ikeda of the Ishikawa dog rescue who saved Taro and Yamato to cover.
Disaster dogs are waiting for the foster parent in this institution.
The Ishikawa dog rescue was established by housewives.
They have looked after the dog for people who take refuge.
Many disaster dogs were saved by work of volunteers.
We spoke also with Dr. Miyano, the brute animal's doctor who cooperates with the Ishikawa dog rescue and is working.
Dr. Miyano was apprehensive about a wild dog increasing.
Originally Kanto which should take the lead of revival had suffered a great deal of damage too.
We collected materials from the girl who is helping animal protection activities in Chiba Prefecture.
Various events in Japan had become a stop and adjournment.
The fireworks display of Ishinomaki-shi, Miyagi was carried out,
and another prefecture was also followed.
Sendai airport is restarted
