Ella Grace’s new favorite - nasi kerabu w ayam percik at @eatxdignitykl !
.
The roast chicken is tender, the coconut sauce is mild and sweet, and the keropok is just icing on top. Do we even need to talk about the magic of blue (her favorite color) rice cooked naturally w blue pea flowers?
.
How do we teach our little ones about community and the impact they can make? It’s the little things.
.
Sharing a meal at a cafe that funds a school for refugees and the underprivileged. Talking about their stories and their journeys and how social enterprises help in simple uncomplicated language.
.
“When we choose to eat here, the money we use to buy our food with goes to help the kids go to school,”.
.
She loves the pictures on the wall and imagines who they are as they talk about their dreams. She wants to be a doctor too. A pediatrician she says, with no specialty because she wants to help heal all the things. 😂❤️

One story at a time, one meal at a time.

// Why me?! //
For almost a decade, I forgot what it felt like to wake up without pain.
-
A regular morning for me after 3-4 hours of sleep (on sleeping pills/painkillers) would be a pounding headache & my throat so painful that it hurt to even open my mouth.
-
Ironically, before I left for my recording contract in Japan, I was diagnosed with chronic pharyngitis. The specialist said that if I had gone to see her a day later I may have lost my voice completely.
-
The insides of my throat was so inflamed that the doctor’s immediate reaction during the scope was that I stop smoking & drinking.
-
She looked at me in disbelief when I told her that funnily enough, I neither smoke nor consume alcohol (except in the form of food - chocolates/desserts).
-
The cause of my misdiagnosed migraine/headaches were later mapped to the tumour in my brain, something I found out during my recording stint in Tokyo.
-
So you can imagine how confused I was with God & His “perfect” plans for me.
-
A dream contract to produce music in Japan & one obstacle after another.
-
A host of other health issues & a painful long-distance relationship that same year; well, you get the idea.
-
I didn’t have all the answers to those blessings in disguise THEN, but it makes sense to me NOW.
-
One of the health/wellness social enterprises that I use to help aspiring entrepreneurs generate passive income would not have come about if it weren’t for those character-building years.
-
And I wouldn’t have met my husband if I didn’t go through the heartbreak of the past relationship.
-
Was it easy? No.
But would I have changed a thing? No.
-
After years of yielding in complete trust to my healer & father in heaven, I realised why things had to happen the way they did.
-
So if you’re going through a character-building season in your life right now, just trust the process.
It’s our attitude of gratitude during times like these that determine our capacity for growth.
-
Just like how muscles are built,
it doesn’t get easier, we just get stronger.

Last year was an amazing year for me, not only I became a wife to the most amazing guy @realarifazizi , I also became an instant mama to the most loving kid you will ever meet, Adam ❤ I have to admit, I was (I am still) overwhelmed at times. Although being Adam's mama is the most rewarding feeling, I've come to realise how challenging it can be for us mothers to juggle the responsibilities of a wife, mother and at the same time run a business. I am lucky to be surrounded by sisters @zairaibrahim @zaireenibrahim and friends who are on the same boat. Seeing you ladies strive as a workings mothers has given me the strength to keep going on days I feel like screaming and pulling my hair out. And quite frankly, sometimes defeated.
I made these Mother's Day edition Statement Tees (3 designs) to celebrate all mothers out there and hope you ladies would wear it with pride.
I know I could have not done it without the help of my husband. I can't even begin to imagine. Hence, part of the profits from the Statement Tees will be channelled to bodies or social enterprises that supports the welfare of single mothers.
To purchase, DM us at @shopatcuratedco Happy early Mother's Day (it should be the whole month! #justsaying 😉)
XO,
Zaida 💋
