Be Open to the Holy Spirit Moving in New Ways!
“When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. He held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father; for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.” His father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his offspring will become a multitude of nations.”” (Genesis 48:17-19 WEB)
This is a fresh word from the Holy Spirit.
If God used to do something in your local church or in your life, it does not mean He will always do it the same way.
In the passage above, Joseph was displeased when his father Jacob blessed Ephraim with the firstborn blessing instead of Manasseh who was his firstborn by natural order of birth.
Joseph thought this way because that’s the way it has been done all along. But it doesn’t mean that it’s a rule.
Just because God chose to move a certain way in the past, doesn’t mean He will keep doing it in that style forever.
He does new things. Be open to flowing with the Holy Spirit and don’t be set on old patterns—if not, it’ll just be a useless tradition of man.
When the Holy Spirit has already moved forward and is beckoning you to follow, don’t be stubborn in clinging on to old ways. There’s no power in traditions that are not backed by the Holy Spirit.
When we try and put God into a box, we limit the potential of what He can do in our lives (since He won’t force us against our will).
It will delay progress and take a journey of opening your heart to change.
Why waste the time? We can skip ahead and trust God in whatever way He leads us.
“When Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there. Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom, and these mighty works? Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? Aren’t all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?” They were offended by him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house.” He didn’t do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:53-58 WEB)
When the people of Nazareth saw Jesus again, they were offended by Him because of what they knew about Him in the past.
They still saw Jesus as that ordinary carpenter’s son when He had already stepped forward into a new season of His life as the revealed Messiah.
Their unbelief caused them to miss out on God’s mighty miracles. They couldn’t move on from past ways and past experiences, so they were denied from new ways of breakthroughs.
God’s Word, His nature and principles are unchanging, but He uses different methods to bring His purposes to pass.
In this season, a new appointed time of God, where many people can only attend church services online, let us not despise it. It is still full of God’s power because He is moving through this new medium.
Be expectant to receive fresh breakthroughs in new ways, as the Holy Spirit chooses!

To all the Front Liners that are defending Malaysia from the COVID-19:
I was told that some of you are nearing your break down point under the tremendous stress at this juncture of time. I just wanted to write this letter to express my utmost gratitude and concerns to all of you.
How are you, our dearest and respected Front Liners? Do you eat well? Do you sleep well? I do hope that while you are giving all out to care for the patients, do not forget to take care of your own well being too.
You might have all sorts of worries at this point of time. The risk of being infected, the increasing concern on the insufficiency of our country’s medical workforce and equipment, the anxiety (or, desolation) as shown on your family member’s faces, the unreasonable scolding you got from the patients’ family outside of the hospital, the deprivation of rest and sleep....
The stress is simply too much to mention.
Who can deal with such stress? I can even imagine how quickly your fears in reaching the boiling point when you try to think about the possibility of something scarier and harder to control is coming soon.
I am sorry that I can’t be there as your companion at the front line. But, as a Medical Social Worker that had been working in the medical organisation for 8 years, I have some words for you:
1. Please allow yourself to be sad and to cry. Let your tears manifest your inner grief. Feeling grieved do not mean we are weak or defeated, it simply means our hearts are tender enough to feel. Very often, in the face of an extreme challenge what we need is not being strong, but being resilient.
A windstorm can easily uproot the strongest tree, but it could never break a resilient grass. In the time of danger, please pray for our hearts to remain supple and resilient, instead of asking ourselves to be tough and strong.
2. Please give yourself enough stability to live life as ‘normal’ as possible. Regardless how busy you are with your duty in the hospital, allocate a time slot to do something that you like to stabilise and settle down your emotion, even if it is only for 15 minutes. You may choose to watch a drama series, browse through Facebook, play video game etc.
Do not lose grip of your normal routines. The best way to keep our emotions stable and grounded is by maintaining and hold on to at least a small part of our normal life.
3. Stay connected to your energy source. For example, keep a family photo in your pocket, replay the encouraging voice message sent by your beloved family members, motivate each other in your university friends' chat group, perform your daily religious rituals, look out to the sun or sky from the window etc.
While your work duty requires you to contribute your energy continuously, you need to create more channels that replenish the positive energy for yourself.
4. Stay alone. Please allow yourself, as well as your workmates, some time and space to be alone, even if it’s only for 5 minutes. Time to be alone is especially important in hard time like this. Only when you are alone, those anxieties that are associated to and magnified by the crowds can be diluted, or eliminated from your mind.
When you are alone, practise deep breathing. No matter where you are, remember you should always take deep breaths. You can pray to your God, or put your hands on the chest to express how grateful you are for the fact that you have not given up on yourself and the country that you call it home, Malaysia. You had fought hard to carry on and provide the best of yourself to everyone in the country.
5. Please accept the truth that we are limited, helpless and powerless. Honestly speaking, this is the hardest hurdle to overcome. From my past experience working with doctors and nurses, I realised the most difficult part is for them to get over the guilts, self-blame, regrets and anger that come along with a patient’s pass on.
I do not know what should I say or do to stop you from the guilts and remorse. To a big extent that reflects how much you care about your patients, your profession and each and every life. I can see your dedication and efforts. I am thankful for your compassion in every patient you cared of. Nevertheless, I still hope that you can try to acknowledge the part of fact that you are limited, helpless and powerless. Only if you could acknowledge it, you can walk over it and make the subsequent steps in your journey.
6. Please ask for help proactively. When you feel that you’re reaching your stress threshold and can’t take it any more, do ask help from other people. Keep 3 important contact numbers readily in hand that you can call anytime and anywhere, to speak out, to cry out, to vent out, and to give you instant boost of energy in order not to giving up.
Last but not least, I really want to say:
To all our beloved front liners, when you are seeing your patients falling critically ill or passing on one after another, please do not be despaired or losing faith. Though you can’t see us, but I hope these words will make you feel us, who are always standing by you, anytime, anywhere.
We wish to give you a pat on your shoulders, and tell you, mate, THANK YOU. Sincerely from all of us, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Even with the slightest streak of hope, our pain will be made less painful.
"THANK YOU. You stay work for us, we stay home for you."

The Word of Knowledge
“For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;” (1 Corinthians 12:8 WEB)
The word of knowledge is an amazing gift of the Holy Spirit. It allows you to supernaturally know things about another person’s past or present, that you wouldn’t have known in the natural.
This gift can effectively cast out unbelief in a person’s heart and give them bold faith to receive further follow-up blessings, such as a healing miracle through prayer.
Imagine the shock and awe of an effective word of knowledge being delivered to an unsuspecting listener.
It’s like shooting an arrow that pierces the heart, making them feel like God is so real and that He cares for them individually.
Personally, this gift operates through me when I pray in tongues.
When someone asks me to prophesy for them, I pray in tongues and rely on the Holy Spirit to show me facts that I wouldn’t have known in the natural, about people that I don’t even know at all.
The key is to quiet yourself, close your eyes and sense what is the Holy Spirit showing you. Is it a picture, a word, or a sound?
The thing about this gift is it takes courage to tell the other person what you saw from the Holy Spirit.
There’s always the annoying worry that “What if I’m wrong? What if I’m just imagining things?”
The key is to practice and be okay with being wrong at times.
I was afraid of being wrong too, but if I didn’t choose to trust the Holy Spirit anyway and just boldly tell them what the Spirit showed me, I wouldn’t be able to walk effectively in this gift.
At times, God will show me parts of the other person’s body that needs healing. There was once where a reader asked for healing prayer, and the Spirit accurately showed me that it was an ailment of his eyes.
Another time, a reader asked for healing prayer for her family member who was ill. I saw the words “cancer” and “leukemia”.
I was afraid that I’d be wrong because saying leukemia is so specific, but it turns out that it was correct.
Another time, a lady asked for healing prayer for an unspoken request. I asked her if it happened due to pregnancy and I sensed in my spirit that she wanted to lose excess fats. It turned out to be accurate.
How is this possible? Only through the Holy Spirit who knows the omniscient mind of God and reveals what God knows, to us.
I’m still a baby at exercising this gift—I need Him to train me more in it. Occasionally, I still make up things in my mind sometimes and end up saying something that’s not true.
We can always keep growing if we remain humble and teachable.
“However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. All things whatever the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine, and will declare it to you.” (John 16:13-15 WEB)
Dear brethren, we need to depend on the Holy Spirit to minister to others effectively in God’s power. The power of God will accompany the true Gospel being preached.
It is our privilege to partner with the Holy Spirit as a fellow worker in bringing God’s plans to pass on this earth. Let’s cooperate with Him in this worthy task.
Impartation prayer:
Dear Abba Father, for those that desire to operate in the gift of word of knowledge, I impart this gift that you’ve given to me onto them as well. The anointing is transferable and can be shared among believers. Help them to grow in this gift and let it be effective for them in ministering to others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
Are you tired of a boring, ordinary Christian journey? Want to walk more in the miraculous?
In my new book “Messiah’s Miracles—The Power of Having Faith in Jesus Christ”, I expound on every one of Jesus’ 37 recorded miracles in the four gospels.
I believe that as you see Jesus working miracles in the four gospels, unveiling God’s heart of love, goodness and mercy towards man, you will also receive faith to see miracles in every area of your life!
You will also be able to walk in the power of God when you expect to see the supernatural gifts in operation.
Testimonials for the book:
“One of my most trusted teachers has truly written a masterpiece. I can't put this book down.”
- Michael Clark, Highly Sought-After Preacher in USA
“Thank you, Milton for the anointed sharing of the 37 miracles of Jesus. Right from the 1st miracle, God dropped fresh revelations of His heart to me. It wasn't head knowledge that I experienced. I felt His personality, His loving heart's intents towards me. On top of that, there's also revelation of His healing power. Praise Jesus for transforming my heart and bringing me closer to Him through Milton's sharing.”
