▶ 1999-SEP. 21 #集集大地震 1999 Jiji Earthquake
《#幸福路上》On Happiness Road, 2017

1999年9月21日上午1時47分，台灣中部車籠埔斷層發生芮氏規模7.3、震央位處南投縣集集鎮的逆斷層型地震，總計造成2415人死亡，1.1萬人受傷、全台約5.1間房屋全倒。此次地震改變了台灣防震政策，在法規或救難組織上都有重大變革。

▶ 1980-SEP. 22 #兩伊戰爭 Iran-Iraq War
《#茉莉人生》Persepolis, 2007

伊朗與伊拉克長達1200多公里的邊界，是兩國長期以來的糾紛來源；加上複雜的宗教矛盾與民族仇恨，雙方衝突不斷。1980年9月伊拉克軍入侵伊朗開始，軍事實力相當的兩國，戰事僵持了8年之久；兩國最終在聯合國調停下停火而各自宣告勝利。

▶ 1846-SEP. 23 #海王星 Neptune
《#星際救援》Ad Astra, 2019

法國數學天文家 奧本勒維耶，在1846年利用天王星軌道推測存在一顆未知行星；他將這顆行星的軌道、位置、大小，送請柏林天文台的伽勒協尋，最終在1846年9月23日晚間發現了海王星，而伽勒發現海王星的位置，正是勒維耶所預測的位置誤差不到一度。

▶ 2007-SEP. 24 #宅男行不行 The Big Bang Theory
《宅男行不行》The Big Bang Theory, 2007

以四位理工男和一位金髮妹同住租屋的故事為主題，自2007年9月24日開播的《宅男行不行》，是GBS所推出的情境喜劇電視劇。本劇總計12季，於2019年5月16日完結；劇中飾演謝爾頓的吉姆帕森斯連續兩年兩度蟬聯艾美獎最佳喜劇男主角獎。

▶ 1066-SEP. 25 #斯坦福橋戰役 Battle of Stamford Bridge
《#維京傳奇》Vikings, 2013

英格蘭國王懺悔者愛德華去世後，不少覬覦王位的勢力引發了一連串的戰爭；其中挪威國王哈拉爾三世帶領1.5萬兵力入侵英格蘭。英格蘭國王哈羅德二世指揮盎格魯薩克遜軍隊，在斯坦福橋戰役擊退維京大軍，哈拉爾三世戰死，維京時代宣告終結。

▶ 1949-SEP. 26 #好萊塢標誌 Hollywood Sign
《#風雲男人幫》Gangster Squad, 2013

全球知名的好萊塢標誌，最初是1923年的地產開發商為了銷售「HOLLYWOODLAND」所設置的廣告牌；隨著洛杉磯電影產業崛起，這個標誌也成為世界著名的地標。但在一次車輛事故中，標誌受到破壞，直到1949年重建，去除了LAND而成為今日的樣貌。

▶ 1988-SEP. 27 #翁山蘇姬 組建全國民主聯盟 The National League For Democracy
《#以愛之名翁山蘇姬》The Lady, 2011

1988年3悅，緬甸國內爆發「8888民主運動」；長期掌權的緬甸軍政府血腥鎮壓示威群眾，緬甸國內陷入恐怖的混亂局勢。緬甸國父翁山將軍之女 翁山蘇姬被民運團體推舉為領導人，於1988年9月27日組建「全國民主聯盟」，為當時緬甸最大的反對黨。

Happy Malaysia Day! So much emotions to unpack today while I reveal these pieces. These three new artworks were created from soil gathered from East and West Malaysia.

I've been working on this project since Nov 2020, when Alvin Teoh, son of Malaysian war veteran, Major Andrew, contacted me asking if I’d want to create artworks to be shown in a documentary about Malaysian war veterans. One of my missions as an artist is to tell stories, especially meaningful ones about history, culture and heritage, so of course I said yes.

From the start, we knew that soil would be the main material to symbolise land that was fought for. Admittedly, there was a lot I didn't know about that the war and the vets - about the pain and reality of war, how it affected their families and lives, and their deep love for the country. I got to meet two vets in person before lockdown, and the rest I met through Zoom. I was also deeply touched by how there were so many Malaysians of various backgrounds who fought for our country - of all races, beliefs, backgrounds, and of Malaysians from East and West Malaysia. Swipe to see a sneaky screenshot I took of them.

As a Sabahan (East Malaysian), I hope these artworks and this documentary will also present East Malaysians as an equal to the West. That is the symbolism of gathering soil from both East and West Malaysia. The documentary will be shown tonight on Astro at 9pm (GMT + 8 ) on Channel 100. Happy Malaysia Day. ❤

▶ 1812-SEP. 14 #莫斯科大火 拿破崙征俄戰爭 Great Fire of Moscow French Invasion of Russia
《#戰爭與和平》War and Peace, 1966

俄羅斯的重要大城 莫斯科，在歷史上經歷了不少次大火；1812年莫斯科大火指的是，拿破崙一世發動入侵俄國的俄法戰爭期間，9月爆發的博羅金諾戰役後，俄軍執行焦土戰術，帶走莫斯科所有糧食並釋放監獄的囚犯，放火燒城，讓拿破崙的大軍一無所獲。

▶ 1950-SEP. 15 #仁川登陸 韓戰 Battle of Inchon Korean War
《#代號鐵鉻行動》Operation Chromite, 2016

韓戰於1950年6月底爆發後，南韓節節敗退，最終在釜山築起最後防線；為了避免朝鮮半島全面赤化，美國麥克阿瑟將軍動用美軍海軍陸戰隊遠征軍，在靠近漢城的仁川進行兩棲登陸，試圖於半島中部開起新戰場，最終美軍為首的聯合國軍取得決定性勝利。

▶ 1920-SEP. 16 #華爾街爆炸事件 Wall Street Bombing
《#沒有主人沒有上帝》No God, No Master, 2012

1920年9月16日中午，繁忙的紐約午餐時段，一輛馬車停在華爾街23號JP摩根公司總部對面，車內約45公斤的炸藥被引爆，造成38人當場死亡、143人受傷。爆炸案調查最終沒有確切結果，歷史學家普遍懷疑是當時的義大利無政府主義者為爆炸案的主謀。

▶ 1944-SEP. 17 #市場花園行動 第二次世界大戰 Operation Market Garden WWII
《#奪橋遺恨》A Bridge Too Far, 1977

位於德國和荷蘭交界的萊茵河，是二戰期間德國邊境重要的自然天險；盟軍在諾曼第戰役後，由英國蒙哥馬利元帥所策劃的「市場花園行動」，投入大量空降兵利奪取荷蘭境內的九個橋樑控制權。但行動最終失敗，德軍持續封鎖萊茵河直到隔年。

▶ 1998-SEP. 18 #尖峰時刻 Rush Hour
《尖峰時刻》Rush Hour, 1998

1998年9月18日首映的《尖峰時刻》，是香港武打明星 成龍繼《殺手壕》《炮彈飛車》《威龍猛探》後的第四部好萊塢電影；故事描述一位香港督察前往美國調查綁架案，與克里斯塔克飾演的黑人警官合作。兩人的逗趣組合，讓本系列在全球大受歡迎。

▶ 1946-SEP. 19 #第一屆坎城影展 1st Annual Cannes Film Festival
《#不設防城市》Roma: Open City, 1945

1930年代末，法國有感於納粹德國宣揚法西斯主義而出品的電影，強勢在威尼斯影展上大放異彩；決定在氣候宜人的坎城，創立一個新的國際影展；首屆原定於1939年9月舉行，卻遭逢二戰爆發而中止，最終在戰後的1946年舉辦了首屆坎城影展。

▶ 1973-SEP. 20 #性別大戰 Battle of the Sexes
《#勝負反手拍》Battle of the Sexes, 2017

1970年代，昔日的男網世界冠軍 鮑比里格斯以帶有性別歧視的言論，出言挑釁當年29歲的女網新星 比莉珍金恩進行網球挑戰。在媒體的推波助瀾之下，吸引約破百萬觀眾關注；雙方分別在1973年5月12日、9月20日舉行了兩場賽事，兩人戰績皆為一勝一負。
