Cassandra learnt Peranakan cooking from Zac’s zor zor, a nyonya. They recently opened a peranakan chap chye peng stall in Golden Mile Tower. We started off with the Blue Pea Nasi Lemak. It was savoury, fragrant, and carried a distinct fragrance of coconut.

Nyonya Flavours’s rendition of Ayam Buah Keluah was savoury and a tad sour, making it more appetizing. The gravy was thick and super flavourful. And the icing on the cake? It only costs $2.50 to add on buah keluak to your rice. The Nyonya Curry Chicken is, of course, not to be missed! Think huge, tender, and juicy cuts of chicken sitting in a rich and smooth curry.

#OTA交手經驗談✈️

很多人多說 tripsta 是雷，但我和 tripsta 交手好幾次的經驗卻是愉快的。

它是一家希臘的旅行社，雖然有02開頭的台灣電話，但轉接到英文客服。

先前在 tripsta 買了一張新幾內亞航空（Air Niugini）國內線POM-GKA-POM的機票，後來又發現另一家巴紐航空便宜兩千、且時段更佳，於是我就姑且一試，看看能不能退票。

剛好原本買的新幾內亞航空去回程起飛時間都有小小異動，於是我就用這當理由向 tripsta 反映：

My boooking（訂單編號）POM-GKA-POM flight time have been changed both outbound and inbound. This may cause my disconnection of international flight. So may I cancel this booking and get full refund?

其實不期不待，沒想到過了幾天 tripsta 回覆了：

Thank you for contacting the tripsta Passenger Service Center.

We would like to inform you that we have already forwarded your request to Air Niugini in order for us to check if full refund is authorized.

As soon as we receive their reply, we will contact you to inform you accordingly.

然後今天下午14:21， tripsta 來了一個好消息：

Dear Mr. Wu,

We would like to inform you that we have checked with the airline in regards to your refund request and full refund has been authorized.

If you wish to proceed with the cancellation of the entire booking, please let us know within the next 24 hours, in order to process your request in time.

於是我馬上再回覆：

Surely I want to cancel this booking and get full refund.
Here's my booking detail：

十分鐘後， tripsta 回覆已經退票且全額退款：

One might think that sealed in this bright pink chewy flour skin is a sweet treat. But under that sweet delicate looking exterior is a whole new world of flavourful glutinous rice filling, bringing with it a savoury twist.

To make Png Kueh, you would need a special wooden mould in a shape of a peach with a pointed edge. Its unmistakable peach shape comes about from the Chinese symbol of longevity, hence the custom for Chinese to use these as offerings during religious ceremonies. Pink for the gods in heaven and white for the gods in hell.

Not only does the filing play a big part in the taste, the skin also makes or breaks a good Png Kueh. If you want your Png Kueh skin thin, sticky and tender, make sure to watch the ratio of flour and water. Too much flour makes the skin tough while too much water makes it fall apart. But fret not, follow our recipe and you have no worries getting that soft bouncy texture.

Add a boost to that savoury flavour and drizzle on sweet soy sauce. This delicate sweet pink Teochew traditional snack, makes your day even just by looking - the perfect comfort food enjoyed by all generations at any time of the day.
