I grown up here.. Standing there putting fabrics in between the papers everyday after school in my school uniform.. Rain, shine, school days, school holidays, days or nights..Standing for more than 12 hours a day was very normal for us at the pleating factory ... The man in the photo is my Dad. He was and still is the only one running a fabric pleating factory in Malaysia since 80‘s.. He taught us how to listen to the sound of the machine clicks to make sure every single piece of fabric gets the right amount of pleats count.
One of the reason why I have been using pleats in every single collection that I have showcased.. It is our DNA .. It runs in our blood!
Pleats were part of our daily life.. It was our "rice bowl" .. I am thankful for what my parents have taught me to be. I appreciate what they have given me and trained me to be hard working and humble.
My Dad is already in his 80s but he has so much passion for his machines and still repairing them himself.
