My favourite yet most challenging activity in @clubmedbintan - The Static Trapeze!
The first time I tried it was five years back as a mum of two and let's just say I've grown much more after giving birth to the third. So I felt very doubtful about whether I could even pull myself up or stay put in a hanging position and not fall. Was it easy? Of course... not. I've always been impressed by trapeze acrobats and I've realised it takes such skill, strength and willpower to master any of the tricks.
So happy I had a chance to try this out and you should know that I was very determined to succeed. Haha. After all, the hubby was watching and he went before me. If he could do it, so could I! While the first two poses (one arm one leg and bird's nest) were relatively easy, the last couple of tricks were difficult, even for the men. I told the circus crew Susan that I wasn't sure if I had the strength to pull myself to a sitting position on the trapeze but she assured me I could and encouraged me to try my best. And I did. Thank you, Susan!
The last mermaid position was challenging and she had to remind me to make sure my bum was on the bar when I leaned backwards, if not I would lose my balance and fall. Well, the bar was thin and not only was it hard and awkward to sit on, it was also way too small for the bum of this mum of 3. Lol. So I was stuck for a while but eventually managed to do it and still posed for one last shot while sitting on the bar with my hands lifted up. Yay!
Hope to try this out again the next time we visit and the next, next and every visit in the future.
P.S. The girls were in the Kids Club but they came over at the last couple of minutes and saw me doing the last trick. Ariel said "I don't even know if I can do what you did" and Angel said "You did well, Mama." Awwww. Thanks girls, of course the two of you will do a better job than me. I have no doubt about that. Glad we all love the trapeze!

The sisters doing their acrobatic stunt on the trapeze. It's one of their favourite activities at @clubmedbintan and the reason why they would want to wake up early every morning. Lol.
When the little sister went on her first attempt in March this year, she was afraid to let go of her hands during the upside down knee hang but just look at her now! It's really a case of practice makes perfect and I am glad to see how this brave girl has now overcome her fear of dropping and even managed to do a back flip.
As for the big sister, being the dancer, she has always been the strong and flexible one in the family. Still, it gave me a shock when she tried to lift herself up for the knee hang and turned too much (see second part) such that she almost made a complete circle. The circus crew told her to let go but that would have meant the end of her chance to try so she surprised everyone in the audience by somehow managing to use her core strength and arm power to manoeuvre herself back to the correct position so that the show could go on. Phew! I would have twisted my arms already if that was me up there. Haha.
Way to go, my dears! Hopefully both of you will inspire your little brother, who can finally join the Mini Club the next time we come, to try out the trapeze too. His answer is a "No" for now but let's see what happens next time. Till then!
