Trae Young Believes He Should Be on Team USA Roster: 'I Would Love to Play'
Trae Young認為他應該入選美國國家隊：「我很樂意效勞」
When Team USA announced its roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Trae Young's nam
e was conspicuously absent.
當美國國家隊公布2023 FIBA世界杯的名單時，很顯然Trae Young的名字不在其中。
The two-time All-Star, who has been snubbed for the last two rounds in the Team
USA selection process, said he hopes to be among the group playing in the 2024 S
ummer Olympics.
這位兩屆全明星的球員在過去兩次的國家隊選拔都被忽略了，他表示他很希望能在2024的巴
黎奧運中入選。
"I definitely want to. It's up to them if they want me to," Young said on the Gi
l's Arena podcast (24:40 mark). "I would love to play with guys and show off my
passing even more and not have to go out and score a lot and just be there if th
ey need me. I'd be happy to, obviously, but I respect the OGs and understand you
have to take your turn, but I believe I should be on there."
Young在Gil’s Arena的Podcast中說：「如果他們邀請我，那我當然希望參加國家隊，但決

Despite publicly expressing his desire to be part of Team USA, Young was snubbed
from the roster in favor of guards like Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese
Haliburton, Josh Hart and Austin Reaves. Edwards, Hart and Reaves typically play
more off the ball, but it's noteworthy that Brunson and Haliburton were taken o
ver Young despite having lighter NBA resumes.
儘管公開表達了希望入選美國國家隊的渴望，Young卻仍然被忽略，而其他後衛球員如Bruns
on、Edwards、Haliburton、Hart跟Reaves卻入選了。
Edwards、Hart跟Reaves比Young更擅長無球技巧，但Brunson跟Haliburton在資歷較淺的情
況下也被選中，而Young卻被忽略了。
Young saw his star fall quite a bit during the 2022-23 NBA season, as his scorin
g and shooting splits took a noticeable dip and Atlanta went a disappointing 41-
41. After making his first All-NBA team in 2021-22, Young was left off the All-N
BA and All-Star rosters last season.
在上個賽季，Young的星度有所下降，他的得分跟命中率都顯下滑，而且老鷹的戰績只有令
人失望的41勝41敗。在2021-22首次入選NBA年度隊後，Young在上個賽季未能入選年度隊跟
全明星隊。
There are also legitimate questions about how well Young's ball-dominant, pick-a
nd-roll-heavy game would translate to international competition, which tends to
be more physical and rely on system play. Young has also long been one of the wo
rst defensive guards in the NBA, which likely plays a factor in him not being se
lected.
而且Young需要大量持球且高度使用擋拆的的打法能不能轉換到國際比賽是存疑的，因為國
際比賽往往有更激烈的對抗且注重體系，而Young長年以來一直是NBA防守最差的後衛之一，
這很可能是他沒被選中的原因之一。
As it stands, Team USA's continued dismissal of Young should highlight the diffe
rences in the NBA and international games.
目前看來，美國國家隊持續忽略Young凸顯了NBA跟國際比賽間的差別。
心得：確實很奇怪，翻開美國隊的名單，應該沒幾個星度高於Young，尤其Cade、AR、Hart
這幾個沒入選過All-Star的也被邀請到正選了，Young這種年度隊等級又表態願意打居然沒
入選….
