My 2019 in review
Parenting: Maeleth is turning 4 in February 2020. This year we witnessed as she reached so many milestones: feeding herself full meals, fully toilet trained, able to write, read, play keyboard, sing, do karate, dance ballet, swim, do addition and subtraction, pray better than before, etc.
These are all so precious. Our dear baby girl is growing so fast and we just want to hold on to all these priceless moments that we shared.
She has not gone to school yet, so we will have to be led by the Lord whether to enroll her in 2020.
Marriage: Amilee and I haven’t had much opportunity for one on one time such as date nights.
I thank God for such a godly, understanding wife who doesn’t ask for much material stuff.
I would like to pamper her more when our financial situation changes. She’s really not complained at all about our situation. I’m a blessed man.
Health: I think this year is Amilee and I’s healthiest year yet. We didn’t start off the year strong, but I think we finished stronger and in better shape than before. Praise Jesus for keeping us in good health. Believing for increasing strength, health and youth renewal in 2020 and beyond.
Work: I don’t work a job. Everyday I’m writing and writing content to post at least twice here on this Facebook page, Bible studies for our patrons and moderating posts in our “Daily Grace Inspirations” FB group.
I thank the Lord that ever since I asked for fresh revelations to write about daily since 2018, it’s been pouring in like a mighty river every day. He has never failed me once.
Since 2018 I’ve written almost 450 devotionals, a few books and submitted a Christian fiction novel to a publisher.
It gives me a great refreshing feeling inside when readers tell me that they’ve been positively impacted by the writings, and especially when they send testimonies of how a revelation shared has transformed their life.
I fondly remember one testimony where a sister in Christ experienced restoration in her marriage by resting from her self-efforts and just choosing to rest in Jesus’ finished work and His love for her.
I’m really thankful to Jesus for this precious writing gift. All glory to Him!
Finances: This is the only area I’m unsatisfied with. Throughout 2019 our savings were dwindling and we end the year much lesser than when the year started.
It feels as though my family is the children of Israel and the army of Egypt is closing in on us at the Red Sea. But I saw that God provided work for us and never let us starve.
The dwindling finances make me feel like this year was a valley year. Some days I just question myself and ask if I’m making a huge mistake and sabotaging the future of my family.
We don’t own our own home yet, the income is pathetic and our bills are huge in comparison.
But then I turned around and look at all your encouraging comments and messages telling me that you’ve been positively impacted by my work and that just keeps me going.
I know God will not fail us. He will not let His children starve or beg for bread. When the time comes, I will raise my rod and Jesus will part the Red Sea for us and make a way.
He shall surely supply all our needs abundantly according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus!
“being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6 WEB)
Dear brethren, I’m sure you’ve experienced your share of good days and bad days in 2019.
Some days were probably so terrible that you felt like giving up altogether.
However speaking for myself, I believe that if Jesus led me to start writing for Him and that He has been providing the flow of revelation faithfully, He will surely complete the good work and take good care of my family.
The responsibility to complete the work rests on Him, not me. I can breathe easy knowing that.
Likewise, Jesus who began a good work in you will surely complete it until the Rapture happens. What has He led you to do?
Even if it hasn’t borne much fruit yet, keep walking in that calling. Continue and don’t give up—you shall sure reap a good harvest and receive rewards for it.
Even though you sow in tears, you will reap with joy.

Here’s my review of the Comedy Zone Asia 2018 review - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/comedy-festival/comedy-festival-2018-tired-jokes-of-white-guilt-mar-comedy-zone-asia/news-story/f9bb7d21546650e3af663304928c61a2
Tired perspective of Asians mar Comedy Zone Asia alumnus
By Kuah Jenhan, Comedy Zone Asia 2015 alumni, Herald Sun’s hirarious (sic) comedian 2017
The reviewer starts by cleverly employing on-the-nose, current flavor of the month, trigger phrases like “white guilt” in its title, “Tired jokes of white guilt mar Comedy Zone Asia”, allegedly setting the tone for the review to come.
However alleged as it seem, it doesn’t seem to hit the mark, allegedly. The reviewer un-allegedly claims the comics in Comedy Zone Asia (CZA) are, “Asia’s allegedly rising comedy talents...” showing that he was more aware that the five comedians are up-and-coming acts (whose combined years of experience is still less than any one of the Daves), than the fact that starting his review with the word “allegedly” already suggests an intent on negative judgement. Full disclosure: I am iffy on how to allegedly use allegedly.
I struggled to understand the intention behind the review as he goes on to award the show only 2.5 stars, but sing praises to four out of five acts while making sure we all knew he found Takashi Waka’s (Japan) name to be a really great comedy name. Why is that so? We may never truly know. After all I do not possess the ability to read minds the same way the reviewer showcased his ability to know that the collective audiences of Doncaster would like to be compensated for being part of an alleged rising comedian’s crowd work.
One has to wonder how the reviewer could have taken away 2.5 stars from the show due to Karunesh Talwar (India) alone. Surely four out of five comedians doing well should average the rating of the show to 4 out of 5 stars, 3 if you’re being miserly.
Might the atmosphere, as in the actual breathable atmosphere in the room, also hurt the show? It seemed to be an important point the reviewer was attempting to make but unfortunately was marred by hateful presentation. Karunesh, with his “vibe-killing set”, -1 star. The lack of air at the “Melbourne Suck The Air Out Of The Room Festival” -1.5 stars.
The closer however was definitely spectacular to say the least. The reviewer calls out the fact that comedians attempting jokes at the expense of Ol’ Whitey were getting tiring. Not only tiring but the fact Asians found being complimented on their English condescending is nothing short of a ludicrous sentiment. Of course the Asians don’t know how they themselves felt! What is an Asian’s experience but merely a third world experience which is probably only worth 1/3 the ‘normal’ average experience.
To borrow a page from the reviewer’s book, this only logically begs the question (black-white, left-right, up-down, and only polar opposite points-of-view need apply) what’s the alternative? To go full Asian, if that’s even a thing, speaking in faux-Asian accents and joking about being able to name more than five kinds of noodles?
Ahh, to be an Asian comedian from a young burgeoning Asian comedy scene hoping to compete on a more global platform and be judged fairly.
Sorry, nice reviewer. 2.5 stars.

All jokes aside and in all seriousness, this comedy sketch is an example that reflects a lot of people in this day and age. Flaunting the possessions that we have to distinguish class, power and success; but is that what success means? Leave a comment on your definition of success!
I hope this description wasn't too serious for you, if it is.. here's something to cheer you up; watch the last 10 secs of this video and watch me dance in the mirror and sing in the shower! hehe
