問題一：

這邊的寫法稱不上什麼重點強調，就只是括號部分比較長一點，接在welcomed後的直
接受詞原位可能說者認為那樣比較不順不好懂（我幾乎沒印象會有人把短的直接受詞
這樣調）。這種長受詞的調動很常見，也跟倒裝句那種重點強調無關。你可能覺得還
好啊，原順序不會不順啊，但人家愛爾蘭人有他們自己英文的習慣跟風格。
問題二：
查不到visits by，那你有沒有查visited by？如果visited by這用法常見的話，那
visits by算不算正常的延伸？就算visits這樣用少見了一點，搭配by是不是也很合理
，別人遇到是不是也一看就懂？其實真的沒什麼，你想太多了。如果你現在認為visits
made by省略made比較好聯想，那你就這麼做吧。有一天你會自然掌握而不需聯想。
至於翻譯工作的部分：
勸你不要。想要用到英文並面對人群，並考慮你目前的「狀況」，我覺得你該走的路線
是進入外商公司或是本土公司的國貿部門之類的。純論筆譯，其實是很難接觸到人群。
若你還是真心很想接觸翻譯靠它維生，我也建議你暫時不要「入行」，不要接有酬勞的
案子當作磨練自己的機會。要嘛這對目前的你來說收入效率太低，不然就是你會交出很
糟糕的譯文而害到業主跟讀者。
儘管說，翻譯實際上就是會花很多時間在查資料（老手也不例外），不論是英文原文
（以英翻中為例）裡各種片語用法或背後典故，或是查中文字典及語料以求得洽當的詞
組表達意思，但你也不能說連個像樣的基本功夫都沒有。一方面是外語底子，使用流暢
英文的能力，這只要是母語人士就相對容易擁有的；另一方面則是從事翻譯所需的「觀
念」，母語人士也得特別學：判斷文句出現的脈絡、場合、言說者意圖，選擇相應語彙
譯出，甚至還要考量作者背景跟及目標讀者的需求等等。中文暫且不提，前述兩方面當
然是彼此相關或有重疊，只是通常學習的來源不太一樣我才分開來談。從你問的問題跟
想法思路看來，我感覺你就是外語底子不好才會這麼沒信心。審慎面對原文當然是譯者
必備的態度，但那來為了偵測藏在尋常語言下的言外之意、習慣片語或專業術語，而不
是在這種小地方鑽牛角尖。多益基於它自己的屬性設定，考試內容深度廣度都很有限，
所以寫考古題硬考到九百，絕對是不足。英語底子的部分，版上或其他地方你自己找資
源補強，翻譯觀念則建議你多看幾本書，看順眼的即可，哪一本我覺得不重要，反正重
點只在基本的概念要有，書裡的例證或尺度掌握你參考看看就好。再來就多練習，成品
拿出來給別人過目，加入臉書的翻譯與譯者社團，上網多找找譯者的部落格或粉絲頁，
看看別人是怎麼罵差勁的劣譯，你就知道怎麼進步。
