日本🇯🇵国際基督教大学(International Christian University）
離開市府以後，在國際學術交流學會、以色列資安協會，還是希望加強台灣在爭取世界人才的所有可能。
我昨天與日本國際基督教大學基金會，曾在日本政府国連代表部、国連開発計画服務的高田亞樹女士，就爭取世界人才的這個議題會談。
他現在任職的Japan ICU Foundation（日本的國際基督教大學基金會，ICU 一個在日本具有盛名的名校）致力於提供獎學金，歡迎世界各國的弱勢、難民、但具有巨大潛力的人才來日。
Aki說，過去他們在招聘優秀的學生、學者，許多是來自於土耳其敘利亞邊境一代飽受戰火催產的年輕人。那時，許多關心的朋友們都會投以懷疑的眼神。比方說：他們會不會對國家安全造成威脅？他們的能力可以跟日本學生競爭？有辦法適應日本嗎？會不會只來日打工不上課？
她都一一努力說服，在第一批學生來之後，所有的聲音慢慢等都不見了，因為他們優秀的表現跟熱誠的態度，成功地在日本立足。
做任何的改變本來就會遇到挑戰，我過去也遇到挑戰，但之後我們還是會持續前進。
如果日本這個相對保守的社會會遇到這些挑戰，我相信我們遇到的阻力或許會比較少一點。
我們也談到關於香港局勢，一些未來優秀、但是可能被迫離開的學生，該何去何從，我相信，各種政府的會議正在如火如荼的開，但投資下一代是最有意義的做法。
設置獎學金，配置專案經理，如日本國際基督教大一樣一一努力去用行動證明，我們在乎人才，我們在乎下一代。
之後在我在國際交流學會、資安科技協會，都會努力朝這一領域前進，不會放棄這些努力。

I met with Associate Director Aki Takada of the Japan ICU Foundation to discuss their foundation’s work on educational grants for displaced Syrian students.
Their foundation has done incredible work supporting refugees who would like to study in Japan with grants for tuition, dorms, textbooks, and more. They also provide a stipend so that students can focus on their studies, and then provide support post-grad with finding a job or continuing their education. It’s inspiring to hear the positive reactions to the talented students they’ve been able to bring to Japan so far.
In Taiwan we also need to foster talent from people of all backgrounds—especially those who are disadvantaged. Refugee issues in both Japan and Taiwan are quite complex, so that is where civil society and foundations can play a role in raising awareness and creating opportunities to change hearts and minds in our respective countries.
