Academia Sinica has already successfully replicated small compounds of anti-viral drug Remdesivir, which is thought to be effective in treating the novel coronavirus (#COVID19).
Dr. James C. Liao, the president of the research institute, praised the achievement as evidence of the institute’s ability to produce pharmaceutical compounds. The technology will allow Taiwan to mass-produce the drug, helping with the fight against the virus.
