One of my favourite vantage point of Mount Fuji..
In case you cannot make it to reach top of Chureito Pagoda, you may snap picture at this point as well.. This is the starting point of the staircase to main shrine, the torii gate looks like framing the picturesque Mount Fuji.

A torii (鳥居, literally bird abode) is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred.
The presence of a torii at the entrance is usually the simplest way to identify Shinto shrines, and a small torii icon represents them on Japanese road maps. They are usually either unpainted or painted vermilion with a black upper lintel.

Mount Fuji is the symbol of Japan and pretty much everyone who comes to Japan wants to see it first-hand. But Mount Fuji isn't always visible from Tokyo and even if you stay for a week, weather and season might have it hide behind clouds the entire time.
So do weather check before visiting Mount Fuji.. We actually made an impromptu visit to Mount Fuji and swapped with other itinerary after we checked the weather forecast.
