A Film for the From Ink to Apparel Exhibition 2019
Inspired by Yang Tze Tong's four pieces of calligraphy depicting the four seasons, Shao Yen creates new silhouettes by deconstructing and reconstructing the organic lines of the calligraphy, exploring the forms and possibilities of clothing. In an attempt to illustrate the vitality of the seasons, Shao Yen made this 3D animated film, in which deconstructed Chinese characters are transformed into cells, microorganisms and plants interacting with the Goddess of Creation in eternity.
