科學與爸爸：
在有科學家的家庭裡長大並不容易。如果您要提出一個大膽的主張，則需要證據或至少一個有根據的假設，來證明石頭是如何飛過前門窗，破窗而入的。您將需要一個很好的理由，因為科學家不能容忍隨便用個藉口搪塞，需要批判性思為能力。 （那就是我，在八歲時用石頭打破窗戶）
如果家裡有一個專業的懷疑論者，那麼要成為地痞說謊小屁孩並不容易。但是我學到了很多重要的思維分析技能，而這些技能並不是在學校真正學到的。我父親對我的生活影響很大。他教我批判性地分析周圍的世界。一種健康正向的懷疑論，不接受沒有證據的斷言揣測。我們家裡有很多野外指南書籍(鳥類，動物，昆蟲，花草，植物等等)，在我們許多童年的露營之旅中，爸爸會給我們一些很棒的戶外活動教學。

It's not easy growing up with a scientist in the house. If you're going to make a bold claim you need evidence or at least a well-founded hypothesis for how that rock ended going through the front porch window. Hooliganism isn't as easy to get away with when there is a professional skeptic in the house. But I learned a lot of important thinking skills that they weren't really teaching in school. My dad has had a big influence on my life. He taught me to critically analyze the world around me. A healthy skepticism which doesn't accept evidence free assertions. He also introduced me to the great outdoors, on our many childhood camping trip.
It took a long time to get everything together, but it was very rewarding to be able to do this original research with him, even though we haven't been able to meet in a few years. The findings surprised me. I hope you enjoy the video.
