Gary, my Chinese American friend has finished his Months long Chinese trip to find his roots, and before flying back to the United States, took the time to sit down with me and discuss some of the things he liked about China and some of the things he disliked, he also gave a more formed opinion of China as he had now had enough time to make up his mind about what he really thought of China.
American Born Chinese or ABC is a term used to describe people of Ethnic Descent who grew up overseas with little or no ties to their original culture and language, they do however still have ties through family and lineage to Mainland China.
