Sometimes we get frustrated and release that frustration upon others in the heat of the moment. Looking back, we then regret acting so impulsively.
In Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant, the forgiven servant went out to exact a small debt of one hundred denarii from a fellow servant because he quickly forgot how his master had forgiven him of the huge debt of ten thousand talents.
“Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’” (Matthew 18:33 NKJV)
If we are conscious of how God is being patient and merciful towards us every day, despite our many failures, we will be empowered to extend that same kind of patience and mercy towards others who cause us frustration.
The way of Grace is to meditate on what we have first received from God, and then receive the Holy Spirit’s power to generously give what we have freely received.
Nothing good dwells in our sinful flesh so we cannot rely on disciple or willpower to become patient. Patience is a fruit that has to be cultivated through hearing the words of Jesus which are spirit and life.
I love to write about God’s word as led by the Holy Spirit, and sometimes a particular revelation about God’s great majesty, glory, love and grace inspires me to write a song or a poem to capture that particular moment and the feeling I received in my heart.
I write prophetic poems for those who commission me for it. It’s amazing how the Holy Spirit whispers the title into my spirit and within minutes, the rest of the poem materializes because it’s from Him.
I’m believing that your personal poem will speak to your situation in life and give you inspiration on how to move forward from here, just like it’s done for the people who commissioned me in the past.
