《MakerPro Community x Taiwanese Manufacturing》
MakerPro, the top 3 of Taiwanese Makers' social media platform that focus on Maker movement and how to bring the Maker ecosystem to real marketing. There are several interesting projects and products they coordinate with different kinds of Makers, such as Open Source Hardware, drone, 3DP robots (MiniPlan), and Location Aware Sensor System (LASS). MakerPro also hold on many workshop and seminar to promote these projects and attract more and more Makers come to this platform.
Recently MakerPro launch a new project which goal is to connect Makers to the Taiwanese local manufacturer together, its name is “Maker x Taiwanese Manufacturing”. The purpose of the project is to offer Maker the less effort and most convenience way to cross the gap between their prototype and real production. How MakerPro can do that is by visiting and sourcing reliable manufacturers and solution provider who will to provide the affordable and minimum quantities production service to Makers. This project integrates the production resource, such as design service, R&D, system integration, manufacturing for small and trial run which lead to be a one-stop service to solve Maker’s problem in manufacturing. MakerPro also plan to build a systematic yellow page for above resources that every Maker can easily find their need in different stage.
We were glad to visit the first station of “Maker x Taiwanese Manufacturing” project. METRO PRODUCTS INC., which offer many different services for Maker, such as industry design, mechanical design and also the manufacturing service for mechanical parts. The founder, Dennis You who has over 20 years’ experience as a product designer and in manufacturing field that he already help lots of Makers and Startup to make their work come true. From Dennis’ office, we saw lots of samples and prototypes which can help Makers to understand which material and surface techniques could be suit for their work.
