We were brainstorming for the little sister's birthday theme and decided to choose something that she really loves - and likely every child will too. Well, okay, even I love it very much and I think you might too. It's something that reminds me of her and is sweet, colourful, addictive and yummy! Yup, we are talking about ICE CREAM, of course.
I was kind of worried that other than letting the kids indulge in ice cream, I might not be able to think of anything related that is fun and enjoyable for them to do. She then told me "Mama, it's okay, We can just come up with one or two very simple activities to do and that will be enough for me." Awwww. Yes, even though I plan and organise parties for each of my kids every year, the thing is they don't demand for a big-scale one and on the contrary, they are happy to just celebrate with a small group of friends while doing very simple stuff. Her words gave me motivation and even though our party indeed turned out to be a simple one, I could tell that she appreciated all the effort that went in and best of all, she had a BLAST.

I think there is no right or wrong,
Because parenting is only the most aware of their own children.

Once I said that slow-flying kids can be compared,
Because you can understand the weak part of the child,
But don't match when others reach 90 points,
I'll go down to 60 or even 50 points,
Sometimes let yourself go with the high standards of children,
Only to see the children more progress and grow up happily,
Ask the child to do it and then ask for it to be done.
At the same time, I will write the goals down,
In line with the child's ability to set,
Can let me know the direction of my child's learning,
At the same time, with the school teacher or therapist,

The child will give a lot of encouragement when they reach their goals.

I like to think that I am a risk-taker who doesn't mind doing something crazy every once in a while. Let's see, I've tried to chase the Aurora with a one-year-old baby in tow, I've done skiing and fell countless time, I've gone on a 3D2N fishing trip as the only female on board, I went jet-skiing when I was six months pregnant, I've done things that I didn't imagine I would or could do.
Now, as a mum, it is my wish to encourage my kids to find opportunities to venture into the unknown, to scale greater heights and to never let anyone tell them that anything is impossible. I want them to believe that they are more capable than they think and to realise that many a time, all it takes is an undying faith, determined spirit and lots of grit.
In August's "Happiness is...", it's about learning to step out of our comfort zones, believing in ourselves and going beyond our limits.

之但係,當呢啲聲音唔係黎自朋友,而係我地自己嘅心聲嘅時候,你有無發覺,我地好少會安慰自己,反而會加多兩錢肉緊,批判自己。好似只有自我批評同自我懲罰先可以幫我們做得更好。
但事實係咪咁呢?
